What are the best current cases?

I remember back in the day when that Antec 900 was the best case for air cooling. Now I'm just getting back into the loop.

What are the best current cases, and why are they the best?

There is a boatload, probably too many to list since the 900 was one of the better. You best bet is read reviews to tell you the truth. Your going to get biased opinions with the choices of today and as mentioned, there are a lot of kick ass cases for air flow now a day.

If there was a case i would buy it be a Mountain mods UFO case.

The one i would not mind getting would be the Duality as i use 2 computers near each other on a HIFI rack.

I only speak from personal experience, but I went from an Antec 900 to a Antec P280 (won in a contest ) The 280 is a very good case IMO. Its quiet and spacious, Can hold most E ATX mobos and has plenty of fans to keep components cool.

The market is far too saturated to come up with "the best cases". Everyone's needs/tastes/etc. are different. Unless you're just asking for recommendations and people's opinions as I don't think anyone can give anyone else the answer for "best case". You could try looking at reviews I suppose, or state what specific things you are looking for in a case.

See:

CaseLabs (more of a modder's case)

Abee (they make very nice aluminum cases, not sure on availability)

You get what you pay for.. Sure if you build it for one computer it's a little pricy but at the same time there is no much room and so many options that cooling if it's water or fan cooling will never be a issue again.

And i did not hear him quote any kind of price range either and they do other kinds to with options like the Pinnacle 18 which all very modifiable.

I'm pretty happy with my Antec 1200. It doesn't quite have enough room for an EATX motherboard but it's pretty solid and has a lot of airflow and room to do some good cable management, but I was pretty surprised with the Cougar chassis I got from Norton from the last WCG crunching contest. For a cheap chassis, it's pretty nice and built solid as a rock.

These are my choices (everyone has their own tastes):

Best budget case (under $50)- NZXT Source 210
- Great price, plenty fan options, decent cable management

Best mid-range (around $100)- Fractal Design Define R4
- extremely well built/solid, decent fan options/airflow, great layout and cable management

Best high end (over $150)- NZXT Switch 810/Corsair 550D or higher
These are what I would consider if I didn't own a Silverstone Fortress FT-01

Would be great if you let us know what you are looking for regarding features.... there are hundreds of different cases out there

I have to agree with everyone else, there are a crap load of good cases out there today. It not like back in the day where you either had a Dragon or a Lian Li.

Fractal Design. Even their budget cases (core 3000 fr instance) are very good.

I think he was alluding to the fact that MM cases are pretty behind the times and quality of the better enthusiast cases of today. CaseLabs makes MountainMods look like over priced shoe boxes with duck tape, and that's not even mentioning their silly plexi ones.
