How can i resize in Illustrator both the image and the artboard in the same time?

MailMan78, could you tell me the technique that was used to make "Death blood bros"? I've been trying over and over the duplicate it without any success.

Here's the picture:

You can do it in three layers.

1. Type out the text.
2. Duplicate the layer.
3. Select the second layer.
4. Invert selection
5. Fill White.
6. Deselect.
7. Guissin Blur in filters (adjust as needed)
8. Select the text again.
9. Select the white layer.
10. Invert selection.
11. Delete
12. Duplicate the text layer again.
13. Move the selected layer down a few notches.
14. Profit.

Thank you, kind sir! Your prompt response is greatly appreciated! I'm having a tiny problem with step number 4. Do I select the entire layer or just the text? Invert selection is grayed out.
