Weird drive icons - Windows 7
MY drive icons changed to something weird after installing these program
Any drive formatter hsfexplorere 0.21 HP Windows format utility for pen drive Not sure which one caused it, but i have uninstalled all them still drive icon hasnt changed. Attached the screen shot |

Scan for virus, download Malwarebytes and scan with that too.

I assume you didn't black out the names on those drives, so it looks like you have a virus/ or have been hacked , or something.

It is possibly you (may) have a virus/malware.
It is always safe to do a scan with a good A/V program and a good anti-malware program. However, if, they do not turn up any problems... you might want to try this fix --> Icons change incorrectly in Windows Edit: The Windows Club has Icon Cache Rebuilder, which you can try. Run a scan of your system files, too. This should check and make sure your system files are not compromised (which shell32.dll is one of and contains the systems icons). To do this run this command (without quotation marks) from a Administrative command prompt --> "sfc /scannow" (be sure to put a space between the "c" and "/") It is explained here --> Use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7 Last edited by 95Viper; Dec 30, 2012 at 03:16 PM. |

Really thanks for your reply guys,
I blacked out drive name because the drives names are my family member names. Just for privacy I scanned for viruses , my pc is clean . I use bit defender 2012 total security. @95Viper thanks a lot man, tried the icon cache rebuiler, It solved my problem. Thanks lot for your help guys
