random high pitch sound from brand new PSU

Hi guys, i just built myself a new rig few days ago and everything went smooth except 1 thing, the PSU will generate some high pitch sound sometimes and the duration usually not longer than 2 minutes, after that it will back to silent. i have tried to shutdown the window but the sound still remain until i shutdown PSU. is it indicate that my PSU is having defect and need to sent for RMA?

There is no way to prevent or minimize a whining piece of hardware once your ears are attuned to the sound.

Even with unreasonably loud system fans on 100%, the high pitched sound will cut through.
Best to get it replaced.

Sounds like really bad coil whine if yours sounds like that youtube video. It could be caused by electrical resonance along with a (or some) poorly secured inductors. RMA will be your best bet, Seasonic is usually pretty good about this.
