Sennheiser Updates the PC 350 and PC 360 Gaming Headsets
Sennheiser announces the rebirth of two of true Legends. The sought after PC 350 and PC 360 gaming headsets have been reengineered to feature optimized comfort, design and virtual 7.1 surround sound, and will be officially launched at CES, the World's Largest Consumer Electronics Show in January 2012.
Great news for quality-conscious gamers, who seek nothing but the best: the new Sennheiser PC 350 Special Edition and the PC 363D Surround Sound Gaming Headsets ensures your partner can live in tranquillity, not being able to hear the action from your headset, while you become fully immersed in your games. ![]() Sennheiser has developed the two new headsets specifically for two types of players: For the 'Pro' Player A professional noise blocking headset, the PC 350 Special Edition will keep you gaming in private. Even at full volume, more than 95% of the gaming audio will remain inside the headset so you can immerse yourself in the game while those around you, won't hear a thing. This is optimal for professional gamers at LAN events or home players who don't want to be interrupted, - or interrupt others while playing. The Special Edition also features the most accurate sound reproduction in a gaming headset today. Utilizing Sennheiser's "Eargonomic Acoustic Refinement" technology, the headset channels audio signals directly into your ears, rather than onto them. For the ultimate entertainment and gadget loving Player Delivering full virtual 7.1 Surround Sound with Dolby Pro Logic IIx, the PC 363D Surround Sound creates a much deeper audio experience and allows you to accurately pinpoint the direction of engine roars, shots or explosions. Designed for long hours of gaming, without breaking a sweat or getting warm ears, it features an open acoustic design, which lets air flow through to keep you extra comfortable at all times. Engineered for quality and comfort Both headsets feature German-engineered technology with speakers manufactured individually at Sennheiser's own facility in Ireland. They come fully equipped with a pro noise cancelling microphone, and – to top it off, Sennheiser has built all headset controls into the specially designed metal ear cups and microphone boom, making volume control and mute functions easy and intuitive. "We realized that the previous models, from 2008 and 2010 are still the most sought after headsets by gamers. We have learned a lot since developing them, so we went back to see how we could make them even better, using what we know today," says Product Manager Christian Ern of Sennheiser Communications. The PC 350 Special Edition and PC 363D Surround Sound are available on Amazon online stores today and will be available in general retail from January 2013 at recommended retail prices of €199 and €249 respectively. Just like the rest of Sennheiser's products, both headsets are built to last and therefore come with Sennheiser's two-year worldwide warranty. |

I have always had the thought that considering the age of the former headsets there would be a redesign in order. All that is left now is the consideration of buying it.

All the did was take the PC360,slightly change the way the ear cup's looks and add an external 7.1 emulator that the headphone connects to and which in turn connects to your PC via USB which means it will not use your sounds card,i like the old 360 better.

Sennheiser has been a pinnacle of quality for a while now. Prices are still a bit high.

I'm pretty interested in their "lower end" model 310 and 330 models which were released recently. These ultra-pricey models may not buy much more than bragging rights.

I still have my Sennheiser PC 350, and my headsett is now 5 years. There is no 1 that is beter on sound in that price range. Even Logitech that has it's gaming headset in that price range are crap.
My headset stil has that same clear sound, but my earpads are abit heavy worn There are almost nothing left og the synthetic leather on the earpads.

You get pretty good quality and comfort for the high price. The 350 is very good for some quiet gaming, but needs the bass mod for general use (music/movies), while the 360 sounds pretty awesome right out of the box, and has a great soundstage too. Sometimes you can find very good deals for both on sales. |

I recently bought the pc330s, and they really do have the same cans as the 333ds and possibly the 360s. However, they brought the price down by the design, and lower quality construction. They are not comfortable after about an hour. For the much lower price, they are worth it, especially if you can get them on sale, otherwise I'm looking forward to a set of these 360s!

The headphone uses the 595's drivers which are pretty good with their open design, but they do benefit from a carefully done precise and gentle modding to sound even better when they are closed, but I would highly agree that it's very important not to overdo the mod, because it will just ruin everything. Since Sennheiser engineers acknowledged and even supported some of the mods enthusiast did for the PC350, I wouldn't be surprised if the new version would already have some of those modifications officially built in. |

The Asus Xonar Xense, and STX soundcards, have headphone amps built in to support up to 600ohm headphones.
I don't know what makes you think its unamplified soundcards... Also on another Note, i recently got PC360.. used it with a Xonar D2X but due to shitty driver support the sound card makes some of my games crash so i took it out.. will have to save for a different sound card now before i can appreciate my headset again.. |

No?, I used the PC350 with the Xense, that's why I told him I did not used it without amps, so I did not claim that they need some modding just because the juice wasn't enough in my setup.

Read your reply again, Then you'll see you didn't tell him anything.. merely asked rhetorical questions.. which would confuse someone that is not as informed as you and I..
