MSI Unveils X79A-GD45 Gaming Motherboard

After a long sabbatical, MSI unveiled a new socket LGA2011 motherboard, the X79A-GD45 Gaming. Over-simplistic naming aside, the board is practically identical to the X79A-GD45 (8D), albeit with a more dull yet intuitive color scheme. Black and bright blue make way for black and gray, with fancy die-cast covers over the MOSFET and chipset heatsinks. The only other feature that makes it stand apart from its older twin is Creative Sound Blaster Cinema audio driver for existing HD audio CODEC, which enhances sound quality over Realtek's driver, and adds a few DSPs of its own.

The X79A-GD45 (8D) is by far the best motherboard I've tried for overclocking the 3820. Lets hope changing the colours and dropping the (8D) doesn't mean a drop in quality.

Did everyone miss the obvious?

8 RAM slots on the new board.
4 RAM slots on the current board.

A move in a very good direction for a "budget concerned" board. I'm looking forward to final pricing and availability...

Uh...no? Both X79A-GD45 Gamer and X79A-GD45 (8D) have the same eight slots.

Are we talking about the same board, or have I made a mistake:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...30623&Tpk=gd45?

If the former, then they list the specifications (and the pictures of the product) incorrectly. If the latter, my mistake thank you for correcting it.

Edit:
My error. Apparently I had mistaken all of the suffixes. The linked 8d doesn't seem to be available from most local retailers, which is where I made the mistake.
