New computer wont play 3D bluray ISO file, any help??

Hello people..

I recently borrowed a mates 3d bluray film of avatar and copied it to iso format to my computer for playback in vlc onto my 3d led tv...

However it only plays in normal for 2D, is it the software im using or can my computer not handle it.

Any advice would be much appreciated as i play all films through my new rig.

Thanks in advance.

Did you convert the blu-ray file to another format? From what I understand vlc can not play blue ray unless the vlc player has been modded or hacked to do so.

What type of 3D are you trying?
What format is the video in now? If ISo then its probably in the original format and VLC will not be able to do the job.

VLC can play BDs but you have to strip the protection from them (I assume OP did or it wouldn't play even on 2D).

I'd guess VLC can't playback 3D content or it doesn't send the 3D flag and thus the TV only shows it in 2D.

edit: 3D support for VLC is in beta stage and only works with nVidia 3D Vision ATM: http://wiki.videolan.org/SoC_2011/Stereoscopic_Video
It doesn't come built in, you need to copy some files and edit a few config files.

Yes i stripped the protection, i tried to 'mount' it in a virtual drive and open with vlc but no luck. i then clicked open file and went in and found one of the files and clicked on it and it plays perfectly but in 2D ;(
