It makes credits and this is all I need.
You need to take care of his hull (as almost any US tank) and pump some shells with that 120 mm gun. MM is not so friendly (you can easily see Tier 10 games but you can penetrate anything in this game).
I got it as a freebie also when it went premium and the bonus was it was also swapped out to M103...... I sold mine though as I found my Type was earning more.

Currently downloading the patch.

SEA has a better name for that contest too.

I think they missed a trick, no arty cap, ohhh they have reduced my GW Panthers HP by 60 and reduced it's reversing speed on hard ground by 1km. So now we have a Tier 6 arty with less HP than some Tier 4 lights and mediums..... thats really effective.

The nerf was on the survivability and mobility, not on the effectiveness of arty as damage dealers. So after 8.3 you'll still hear "arty is OP" from the vocal minority.

IMO they certainly have no clue how to resolve that arty problem in high tier games.
Despite all those nerfs I'll play my arty's until the game will be dead an buried.

On the other hand games in Tier 6-8 are almost arty free (usually one/side, rare 2 and extremely rare 3 arty in each team) so I'm pretty happy with my Tier 6/8 tanks (tanks not arty).

How am I supposed to play Tiger P? As a heavy I am compelled to go to the frontline, but having worthless armour except for the front I think its more suited to be a 2nd line sniper. What do I do when I am in the top tier? :<

When you are the top tank, don't get to close to the enemy, use cover and snipe as long as you can. But you also rely on your team, if your team sucks you are dead. I say this because no matter what tank you use the team is way more important and powerful as a whole and in pub matches everything can happen, if they leave you alone you can play really well, but you will be defeated eventually, unless you are playing against very noob players. Don't angle your front armor because you have 2 weakspots where your lights are, try to keep your lower armor covered because you have another big weakspot there, once you fire keep moving front and backwards, a little too the left and right, don't stay still, that way you are making more difficult for them to hit those weakspots.

Yeah I found out that this tank is not cut to be a solo style. With Panzer IV and to some extent the VK3001P I could fight/hold alone in an empty flank, but with the Tiger P I really need some cover from your allies. Makes it pretty difficult to play if you have a team of lemmings.

Most of the time i play heavies and heavy TDs, and you rely a lot on your team, specially in higher tiers matches, it's rare to go solo and succeed (unless they are noobs). In low tier matches the guns are inaccurate, moving or far targets are difficult to hit. But higher tier tanks are bigger and bigger, and slower and their guns much more precise and deadly, so solo is out of question for a heavy. It's all about teamwork, if the team sucks your objective changes to survive and score points.

Whether you use the Tiger P,or any other heavy: Never put yourself in a position where you cannot disengage and reposition. If the enemy advance you go back, always shooting, never let them get close (unless you have a cover position)

Either I leave a flank almost completely uncovered, or I go there with a light and a med or two hoping to stall them for a few additional minutes. Pretty hard to hold if they come charging with half of their team. I probably would do better with Tiger, since I like the ability to relocate a lot. I can play pretty decently if people cover my flanks (700-1000exp+~20k for a normal win, unless they steamroll the enemy before I reach the front)

Just watch for arty, both the Tiger and Tiger P are easily one shotted by arty such as the S51 and SU14, for some reason I get many more one shot kills from them than I do any of the other tier 7 heavies. I remember ages ago grinding to the Tiger and really proud of myself for finally getting a tank that had some real clout (well with the upgraded 88mm), then shortly afterwards I was playing cliff, sat behind a medium sized rock defending the flank when bang, 1450 damage from a SU14 and me smoke, I said to myself then...... I need that arty!

^^^ It's funny, I have had most of them but liked very few of them! At the end of the day, its all down to gaming styles, for me, I see little point in grinding a decent heavy just to sit back and snipe, of course sniping from a heavy has value but I want a heavy that can carefully advance and destroy all before it, if I wanted to snipe I would do so from a decent TD.

That's exactly my style.
Unfortunately in high tiers now it's impossible to do that when 5 Tier 8 arty's are watching your path.
And that's why I sold everything at Tier 10 and my only T10 heavy tank is E5. In rest and all my high tier vehicles are TD's/arty/scouts. And BatChat of course.

Every battle I pray that I will not be facing those two, IS/IS3, KV5 and T29. As long as those 2 atries are still alive I will be hiding somewhere, even if it means I have to snipe from 400+m. IS/IS3 are a nightmare, get too close and they will just charge and gun you down, too far you can't reliably penetrate. KV5 is almost impossible to kill alone even with long 88, and good T29 players are a nightmare to handle. And then the French go karts will just drive circles around me. All in all, Tiger P is pretty team reliant, get matched to a shit team half your team will die before you reach the front, and then fast mediums/lights will just charge through the thinned ranks and riddle the tank with holes.

Of course this tank comes with a lot of advantages, including the ability to laugh at KV1(s) (relatively hard target for PzIV), the ability to snipe across the battlefield with ease in maps like El Halluf and Westfield.

Now I wonder if that XP is eligible for 1000 gold in Top 100 Tier 1-4 contest...

My best Tier 1 game ever is in the Chinese tier 1...

I've only played it three times, lost the first two but had enough XP to research every module. Then that's what happened in the third LOL. BUT...my crew died in all three. In the second loss for example, I was still 100%.

Finally manage to get the hang of playing Tiger P, that is, make sure there are no tier 7+ guns aiming your direction and you will be fine. Dishing out 200-300dmg per hit in games where everyone is running 1000-1500 health is not that great, especially when every 5th shot bounces. Being a kitten is suffering :'(
