New Wireless Adapter

So for quite a while now, I've been using a USB network adapter and would like to upgrade to a PCI/PCI-E based one, but am so out of the loop, was hoping to get some advice on what to look for. Thanks!

PCI-e is not necessarily an upgrade. Some of the best Network adapters are usb. Netgear has some really nice N900 adapters if your router has that capability

Although this is definitely an upgrade ASUS PCE-AC66 Next Generation AC Dual-Band Wireles...

Or this is new NETGEAR A6200-100NAS 802.11ac Dual Band Wi-Fi Adap...

Since you want to upgrade I would suggest to stick with a 5 ghz bandwith. Most of things in home still use the 2.4ghz. So sometimes you get choppy wireless phone because of router.

I'd like to jump in here and ask if USB adapters are basically all the same except that the more expensive ones are dual band? The cheap ones are just $10 before shipping from the egg.

Those have weak signals etcetc, so unless you are quite close to your router and its unobstructed it will give you untold amounts of pain.
