Need help in making my overclock more stable

Hello guys,
As I promised before that I will be more active on these forums, so here I am .
I need help in stabilizing my Q6600 overclock, as it is painful to see that awful voltage of 1.58 in the bios being as 1.53 and not even being enough to hold 3.5 GHZ stable.
So yeah guys, if you need more info on my problem please do tell me and we'll figure this one out quickly.
By the way, my specs are in the profile.

I don't know much about overclocking those CPU's, but it might just be that you hit the end of it, that it's pushed as far as it will go.

its just not that it doesn't boot at all, it works but sometimes when stress testing it gives me errors and stuff, I know when the ceiling comes it would just not boot at all or it might boot but crashes with a BSOD right at the start, cause that is what happened to my both pentium dual-cores when I overclocked them.

I think you've reached your limit with that chip on air. I've only been able to get mine stable at 3.3Ghz, and I actually backed it down to 3Ghz.. because I didn't like the temps. I think you'll need water to keep it stable.

EDIT: Also, mine is a G0 chip. What do you have? an E0 or G0?

is there any tinkering with northbridge voltage or that sort of thing that might help? cause the only thing I bumped up was CPU voltage.
It's a G0 stepping.

Like I said I think you've hit your wall.. That's a lot of voltage for that C2Q on air... What's your temps?

the temps are actually quite breezy for an overclock like that and with that type of voltage.
it idles somewhere between 36-40C and when it's on full load the temps don't exceed 70C.
And theres one thing you also need to know: when it's on idle the voltage stays at the max that ive put in bios which is 1.553, but when it comes to load it always goes down to about 1.488. What might the problem here? cause i think it is the problem solver when it goes away. Note that power saving functions are disabled in the bios.

System Specs

CPU Core Voltage| 1.4875V (maxium for a q6600 is 1.50v on air or 1.6v under water cooling)
DDR2 Voltage| 2.000V
CPU VTT 1.2V Voltage| 1.27V
MCH 1.25V Voltage | 1.41
ICH 1.05 Voltage | 1.05V
ICHIO 1.5v Voltage | 1.50V
DDR2 Reference Voltage | 0%
CPU GTLREF 0&2 | 67%
CPU GTLREF 1&3 | 67%
that should be good enough for 3.5 or 3.6
