Converting MOV. to AVI or MPG format?

Hello my fellow TPUer's,

I want to edit some videos of the Muse concert I saw last night and am looking for a good free program that will allow me to convert a MOV. file to an AVI or MPG format. What do you guys recommend?

Thanks for the help

So far Handbrake appears to be a good program, but I am a novice when it comes to video codec and I after watching some how-to's on youtube I think I figured it out... but will have to wait and see the finish results.

EDIT: Okay so that didn't work, I have no idea how to use this program.

it's actually easy, click source and open video file and find ur mov file and u can got presets if u need it on ur phone or anything u can use one of them...

and u can choose between mp4 or mkv...

or try Freemake Video Converter it's free, supports gpu encoding and a lot of in and put formats: http://www.freemake.com/

Yeah I saw the options for mp4 and mkv, but where is the avi, mpg or mpeg format options? because those are the ones I need. I will check out Freemake as well, thanks.

I've used Pazera to convert any video file to avi. I use Handbrake to backup my movies to mp4 or mkv to play on my android tablet. Handbrake is a great product, but your limited to mp4 and mkv files.

I have decided to stick with Pazera, it worked perfectly for my project. Thanks Midweaver!
