connecting older hd tv to pc

I found an older sony trinitron wega hd tv. Its a 34 inch capable of 720p and 1080i. Right now I have it connected via red green blue cables and another set of audio for sound. It works ok but there is the issue of overscan. I can't turn it off. I used the nvidia control panel to compensate by making a custom res but can't moge the position of the desktop so I still get some cut off. The tv has a hdcp dvi port meant for hd dvd. I was wondering if using this connection instead would help with overascan. The tvs model is kv-34h5510, one of the 5s could be an S

It's a digital port... if you've got a cable, try it! Might even get sound from HD Audio on the video card.

I've got an 8800gt so no sound through the card unless there's a passthrough cable that goes inside like my 9600gt had
