How to downgrade PCI-E version ? [Radeon HD 7770]
I see the regedit key DisablePCIEGen3Support in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Video\{354F011E-7673-439E-A0BD-272B1159F3DD}\0000
But i need downgrade from PCI-E 1.1 to PCI-E 1.0 Firstly I did buy sapphire card and got artefacts while scrolling in 2D like browser or even paint then I make an exchange to asus but artefacts stay... I come to conclusion it's intel G33 chip-set trouble because initially my mobo didn't have PCI-E 1.1 support only 1.0 but after some bios update GPU-Z showed 1.1 with my (currently broken) 8600GT! |

PCI-E version is not your problem. All PCI-E slots are compatible with older versions.

Well first of it would probably help to know what your motherboard is. Like the model number.

The PCI-E will run at 1.0 coz your motherboard does not support 1.1, 2.0 or 3.0 versions so the card runs at the spec of your motherboard, hence they say the cards are backward compatible.

Did the artifacts come after you upgraded the BIOS?

If it happens in a web browser, disable hardware acceleration in that browser. Update the drivers to the latest might help as well.
And just in case, check in the BIOS whether the PCI-E bus frequency is at 100 MHz.

So its an Acer pre build. Whats the specs of your power supply. That might be the issue.

That would only reduce the lanes, not change the version.
