Is it safe to run ddr2 1066mhz cl-5 at 800mhz but timing of cl-4?

I used to have 2x2GB PC2 6400 DDR2 cl-4 4-4-3-15 (OCZ)
I replaced them with 4x2GB PC2 8500 DDR2 1066mhz cl-5 5-5-5-18 (Kingston)

My motherboard supports only 800mhz (Asus striker extreme, nvidia 680i chipset).

If I run the new memory at 800mhz, can I also assume they will work as 4-4-4-15?

There is a very high chance it will work--usually memory can be underclocked a bit and the timings tightened up. But I'd run Memtest on it just to make sure

I ran my Mushkin 1066 DDR2 @ 900 on my old Striker Extreme.

I've actually tried to go the other way with a 2x2GB kit I just bought off ebay. DDR2 4-4-4-12 @ 800 (PNY XLR8). I can get them to 1050 5-5-5-15 @ stock volts (2V). I tried 1066 at those timings too but wouldn't post so I just kept it at stock volts and 1050. Long story short, if your RAM behaves close to the same way mine did I would be optimistic that it will work at CAS4 at 800.
