I have the AE2500 and I can say for absolute certain that it is terrible when it comes to reliability. Over-draws on USB and can overheat. It works great when it works, it will run at 300Mbps @ 5Ghz but it stops working so often that it's not worth it unless you're going to supply 5v@1a and cool the BCM chip to keep it from overheating. At this point I've stopped using it and I've given up on it. One of the worst investments I've made. In fact USB wi-fi adapters I've owned have always been pretty piss poor regardless of the manufacturer.

In my personal opinion, if the hardware can't work as designed it shouldn't even be sold.

If your router supports MIMO, if you're within 25-30 feet of the router (if there is only a wall,) it should go up as high at 300Mbps. Don't get me wrong, it's a fast adapter, it just cut out on me so often.

English is my primary language and I'm usually pretty good at deciphering what people are trying to say when grammar and sentence structure are at a premium, but I'm pretty confused with what is trying to conveyed here.

Are you trying to say that the first two revisions don't have a linux driver and the third does? I wasn't aware of any linux driver being available for any revision of this adapter.
