Id still grab a 7950 now... it will be worth more than something lower when you sell it for the new Xxxx series cards.

I wont be selling it. Plan is to toss whatever card/cards I get now into the HTPC when all is said and done.

You might even be able to get a 7950 crossfire for relatively cheap after nex gen launches. I remember reading something about a 7950 being the most performance for the dollar at 1440p. I am looking for that now. If you plan on sticking this gpu into and htpc and getting nex gen cards maybe get a 7850 or something. Just a suggestion.

I like being able to play games on my TV as well. It's nice when people come over for drunken video games.

Super Nintendo version is the best! I like the Wii's Smash Brothers. But you don't need a 7870 for any of these lol.

LOL reminds me of my last deployment! We stole a 46in plasma from our TOC and mounted it in a community area inside our building. We had a P4 laptop that a soldier donated cause the screen was busted and I installed ally types of emulators and games! We had a blast on mario kart SNES!!!

because the console just works better. Turn it on and play. Controllers are better. You'd have to buy controllers for emulators. I just like simple things that work instantly and every time.

They make usb adaptors that you can use a OEM console controller on. I use a PSX/N64 USB adaptor for emulators and some PC games! It always feels good to use the real thing instead of a crappy usb clone controller.

That's news to me, does that work with the wireless controllers?
And is there any input lag?

I have an xbox controller and it just needs a special driver. The wireless controllers of course will have some lag.
