Don't matter, Haswell's only advantage over Ivy Bridge is power usage. Unless your worried about your power bill, stick with Ivy Bridge. Haswell is not going to be faster than Ivy Bridge.

BTW, Haswell is schedualed to launch the first week of June.

But its a diff socket. Could mean end of 1155 is near. I would wait a little just to see and hopefuly it will knock prices down on Ivy

That is a good point, though I don't plan on updating my PC for 2 years or so.

Socket 1155 with an i5 3570k will easily last you two years. Most people, like me, will not want to wait until June to upgrade for what is rumored to be negligible performance gains. Your build is great, wouldnt change a thing, except maybe consider a H80i.

Yea I was originally going for the H80i though reviews were mixed between that and the H100

Might end up changing to the H80i instead.

So? How many people are still rocking 1366 or 1156? Just because some peice of hardware goes EOL, doesn't mean it stops working.

I'd hold off on the H80i and wait for Swiftech to release their H220. Preorders are going to start soon.

The H220 is gonna be ~$145 or so, but it should be worth it, seeing how it's made of copper, has a substantial user-accessible reservoir and has a pretty powerful pump to boot. Plus, the pump is PWM-controlled, and there is a 1 -> 7 PWM control for additional fans.

Yea, not much difference from the H80i price wise

though trying to find who in the UK will be stocking it, OCUK say they don't deal with Swiftech.

Ok, let's sort this out. Peeps say wait for this wait for that. That's all bull cause when this come's out there will be a new that plus that is always more pricey than this. It is all a hunk of BS. 3570K is and 1155 is a great platform and priced right. If you wait for (THAT), prices will be higher so get this what you want in your post. Now I am sure your very confused so i will end this conversation so somebody else can post more information about that.

Your build is terrific, pull the trigger!

And you know this how? Do you work for Intel? Or are you referring to the one "leaked benchmark" that could easily have been fake or completely fabricated? If I recall people said not to bother waiting for Sandy Bridge up until the day it dropped and people were blown away $250-350 CPU's were performing on par with $1000 ones from 1366, or swearing to wait for Bulldozer right up until it launched and everyone clung to their Phenom II's.

The point is, we just don't know if Haswell will be fantastic, or a mediocre upgrade, but basing opinions of one or two graphs thrown together in Excel from a very bad source is not the way to go.

That is a legitimate concern, if he wants/needs a new system now then the i5 will last him plenty.
