XBox 720 will ban you for playing used games.

Wow. I mean..just....wow. If this turns out to be true, I guess my console days will pretty much be over with. If MS really pulls this stunt, the gaming industry as we know it will go into a frenzy of change and insanity of lost money, marketshare changes, developer pull outs, online flame wars and social media outpouring the likes of which we have never seen.

2013 could be turning into a VERY interesting and unstable time for the gaming industry, yikes..... On the other hand, the PC gaming industry could have an incredible rebirth as a result of this, or it may get even worse

there are not any used games on PC either in recent history... unless you let a buddy have your steam/origin pw, which is risky.

Meh, I buy all my games on steam and either play on my monitors or my TV thats hooked up to my TV w/ a wired xbox 360 controller. No reason to even own an xbox for me.

As for not being able to sell PC games, thats fine because I usually buy them for super cheap on sale. (Minus a few games I am willing to shell out full asking price).

They won't care, all my friends play only on consoles don't even know what DRM is.

Unless they get banned for doing something that isn't wrong by common sense standards.

I can't see this happening, 100'000's of people are likely employed in the used games market as a lot of the retail game stores rely heavily on revenues from used games/consoles etc and without those would likely not be able to continue trading. Not only that, MS has little to gain from this as there are probably 3 kinds of console gamers, those who always buy new, those who buy used and some new and those who always buy used. they wouldn't benefit and if anything it would also damage them.

And the whole PC gaming dying thing has been circulating for years but it is still very much alive and looks set to be for years to come.

As for not being able to sell PC games, thats fine because I usually buy them for super cheap on sale. (Minus a few games I am willing to shell out full asking price).[/QUOTE]

This is what I do, I rarely buy full price titles, Steam weekend deals FTW

They say the same thing every time a new generation of console is coming out. I'll believe it when I see it, but I highly doubt it is true.

No more renting a game, no more borrowing your buddies copy of Joe Montana Sports Talk Football. Man it would suck for the console world. However nothing will change for the PC world.....don't care.

Piracy? I thought it was a simple case of monopolistic company activity. Still, I have always considered that argument to be more a test of gullibility than evidence of culpability.

Well, they do it on the PC with online activation codes, so why stop there?

I won't buy new Xbox 360 games now, as used games are 15% of the cost. So consider me the cause of this problem. lol

Combine this with $80 price tag for triple-a games and you've got yourself a recipe for failure. Glad I play PC games

Yeah, WiiU doesn't but the WiiU just sucks regardless. The first Wii was much better. Nintendo has yet to come up with a good online service.

I won't go into it in a Xbox thread, but I will say that the last good thing to come out of Nintendo was the 3DS.

Ahahahaha, they are so fuckin greedy they'll kill the console industry themselves. Quadruple facepalm.

And an amazing opportunity for GOG. I'm buying more and more on GOG even if it's not as cheap as on Steam. Because not being bound to idiotic greedy DRM rules sometimes means more than few saved cents.
