Problem after connecting case fan to 5V from PSU - Page 4

Why did the mainboard stop outputting 5v? I don't see any reason you couldn't connect a 5v fan to a 5v source like the power adaptor. Just make sure the adaptor has enough power. It should since it was likely providing the 5v that the mainboard fed the fans with.
