Youtube sucks now
I always watch videos on youtube and make some comments, you know to express my opinion. It was fine before but right now it really sucks! It takes too long to watch and download videos. And when i tried to post comments, it says "error" or the comment may be held for uploader approval. Have you experienced this too?

If I am commenting on a lot of videos then yes I will get the captcha pop up prior to the video accepting the response.
I have no problem with watching videos on youtube. |

I think that "comment withheld for uploader approval" is pretty much the users' fault, not Google's. So much users type such a crap that it has made video uploaders decide to set the commenting settings of their videos on "only show approved viewer comments".

Are Vimeo, Dailymotion etc. also banned? If not, that ban is retarded because those are sites with a similar service and should be treated equally. BTW, if you do not like Youtube simply stay away from it, there is no reason for the government to ban it (I think it is as harmless as for example this site). And oh, please do not say it is because of "attacking Islam", because Youtube never attacked the Islam, users of the service did.
BTW, just my 2 cents, no offense intended.

Yes, users of the service did the attacking... and Youtube just remained silent and defended those users claiming no breach of "Terms of Service". And you know people say... "All it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to remain silent". |

I agree honestly with the exception of child porn and such. They should not only block that stuff but nuke the IP that's distributing it. We can dispute Pirate Bay and such with honest debate but some things just do not belong in a society (CP).
As for a government blocking Youtube because of something with a stupid anti-Islam video........well all I can say is I am glad not all Muslims are so insecure in their faith that something like a Youtube video can shake them from their principles of peace. When people make fun of Christians I don't scream to ban Youtube. I just wish them luck and not watch the video. I doubt that G-d would like me burning down buildings and killing people because someone has a camcorder and no manners. |

I have the same issue. I am on a very reliable 50Mb connection, but much of the time youtube fails to load a video to keep up with streaming.
This has happened from multiple connections and multiple computers with multiple browsers, I find myself to be very lucky if I can watch a whole Youtube video without having to pause and do something else. This primarily happens on 720 or 1080p, but can happen on any resolution. 720/1080 tend to be pretty consistent to the point where I will start the video and pause it, and come back to it later. This was thwarted with the recent update where videos will only load up to a certain point and stop, rather than loading the whole video. At this point, it is very difficult to watch a video over 2 minutes long without having to pause multiple times. Some people say they don't have these problems at all, but I see it happen on other peoples computers all the time. Maybe it just doesn't bother people that much so they don't notice.

Go here. Compare your speed to that of your ISP. If both you and your ISP's speeds are quite low, there may be an issue with your ISP's backhaul.
Keep in mind that your speeds from YouTube will be lower than the actual speeds you are getting/paying for. For example, my speedtests show a whole heck of a lot of bandwidth.. (limited by, I believe, a 100 Mbps switch and other traffic)..but my reported average bandwidth is considerably lower. ![]() You can also check bandwidth used in real time by right clicking a video and choosing "Show Video Info". Make sure to set the quality to 720p or 1080p as it seems that YouTube limits HTTP connections for anything lower. ![]() This, of course, won't tell you what or why you're having a problem, but may help you diagnose it. Edit: You might also try opting in for the HTML5 trial.

As for the religious aspect of this argument I fully respect your perspective and no I don't hear many Muslims trashing Christian faith to the extreme that I see "peaceful" atheist trash both of our faiths. Problem is I think people have lost basic respect for other human beings. Something both books teach be it the Holy Quran or the Holy Bible. Anyway we better get back on topic. I just wanted to let you know its about respect from my perspective and burning down or killing disrespectful people isn't what the lord intended. That's what I believe anyway. |

Seven Hells, why must you be so serious about religion in a forum thread that is not about religion at all? Religion can be discussed (within limits) on generalnonsense.net, this is supposed to be a tech forum. Thank you very much.

I didn't bring up religion or wanted to talk about it ... I was just responding to comments made by others. All I said was my Govt. banned Youtube and I supported the move.
