Also, never trust college professors. Trust community college teachers even less.
^ Agree, 50 grand in debt with a useless degree because my professors always coddled me telling me I would be ok as long as I stayed with it (when I tried to change majors two different occasions to something more applicable).

ha one of the great things about attending a state run college during a recession is that many of my classes, including upper division, were taught by Phd. Students. They would take turns teaching my MIS classes and they often contradicted eachother.

I could only imagine the backlash they would receive if they ever went that route, which is why I don't believe it will ever happen, at least in the near future.

I don't know what he was on about but that wouldn't be it. MS allows pirated OS updates. They don't auto-check their validation updates and claim they'd rather you pirate Windows than use something else. The only exceptions are service packs that bundle the validation checks and MS products that interface with MS updates to screw with your settings like MSE.

So I won't be stuck installing a million additional things, that end up slowing my computer down with MS bloatware?
Sign me up..
But yea, I'm not paying for that...

Security updates, patches and added functions are all overrated anyway. Still can't tell trolling from stupidity.

You need to find a new class, m'kay?

Microsoft ALREADY charges for support calls. They will NEVER charge for a security update.. they'll be sued by nearly every corporation on the planet.

what cadaveca said... (though they may have the right to charge w/e they want for "windows 9" and onwards I guess?

+if they charge for updates piratebay will need to upgrade their servers ^^, cause ppl wont pay monthly for M$'s failures.

And I highly doubt that MS will start charging for updates before Apple starts doing that (knowing apple's ways...)

MS can't handle business like Apple; I'm quite sure Apple has a patent for that somewhere
