If true, across those benchmarks the Titan card is 35% faster than the GHz 7970.

That's not a lot if you consider the rumoured pricing. However, IF it can be clocked towards the GHz mark then it will obviously become the beast we all expect.

W1zz, grant us the truth!!!!!

I expected it to be around 40-45% faster then a 7970 GHz alone considering die-size. If its below 30% like the slide above its Ehh!!! for the price premium of $899 one would expect 50% performance.

Thats a real turn off price. If its 30% faster then 7970 GHz at most $150 higher price tag above that it just become not worth it. 2 7970 GHz are faster at similar or lower price point especially when you consider gaming bundles that you get or sell to recoup money making it a better bang for the buck.

I'm sure someone will buy them no matter what price point.

Yeah, you kind of pay premium for vapor chamber cooler and magnesium casing also. I hope there will be noisier, hotter and cheaper cards available soon after launch.

not really (7970 and 7950 have vapors chambers too) the whole magnezium, al and 6gb stuff its just for marketing; those coolers with lots of heatpipes and 2-3 fans are far better in temps and noise than any vapor chamber blower fan style coolers they can make.

This card would be fun to watch under watter cooling for 24/7 and ln2 for world records.

Only about 35-40% faster and much more than double the price of a 7970? That's the fastest card on the planet but no thanks. I'll take 3x7970 for about the same price. I hope those rumors are not true...

If the price remains at ~£800-900 for that performance, it definitely means nVidia has yield problems. But who cares, I'm 100% sure that these cards will be sold-out during their pre-order time no matter what the price/performance ratio is.

If the titan is going to cost almost twice as much as the 7970 I would expect more performance than this. I'm also going to take it with a grain of salt because there is a lot that isn't told about the configuration for the machine it was benched on. If it's based on using old AMD drivers then it's already useless for the 7970 scores.

I think that is just an assumption based on the GTX690 having a Mg alloy shroud.

Don't forget performance will go up once it has Official drivers also. I was hopping for about 10-20% below 690

You math is a bit off... It's more like 25% vs GTX 680 and 30% vs R7970GE... Which is kind of underwhelming TBH...

Basically buy the 780s performance a year early, but for a $400 premium.

Agreed. For something that is going to cost 80-100% more than the GTX 680, I would expect a bit more than 25% performance gain over the 680 and with the 7970 being 30% behind, what makes two 7970s not worth it for the same price?

It's pretty and is faster than the current AMD flagship.
Enough for an nVidia fanboy with money to burn.

nVidia have usually been a bit higher performance per dollar so nothing new to me.

Am I missing something is the 7970 not faster?

ontopic,
I wouldnt mind 2 of these beasts to go with 2 more 1440p screens, or mabe just go all out and get some new quadhd screens
with the cost of these gpu's perf for £ doesnt really come into the eqation, 7970 is what £270 now 2 of the or if you rather nvidia 2 670's for that price will prob beat it in gaming,
just for compute the 670's would be hammered.
