The article is correct though. Kudos to Apple for making the smartphone cooler. But I know so many 'ordinary daytime TV watching types' that don't even know that the other top brand smart phones out there can do all the same things their iphones can, and more.

I even had someone a few months back say to me (as I was browsing on my phone to find some info for them - from google) - "is that an iphone?". They didn't know there were other smartphones out there that can do all the same stuff Apple touts as 'unique'.

It's all marketing. It's just like when a cigarette company first came out and said they 'toasted' their tobacco. It didn't matter that was how most folk made tobacco - they were the first to shout about it. (http://tobacco.stanford.edu/tobacco_...%27s%20Toasted)

samsung's business strategy has been interesting. they make a lot of products that are in apple products. so for the past few years most of their products are direct rip-offs with a different OS. now that they have more retail clout in the industry they branch off from the apple rip-off and start creating their own designs that people seem to enjoy. personally, the samsung phones seem too big and clunky for my refined tastes but i can see a lot of american's thinking bigger is better. time to start hating samsung because they are the new leader!!!
