You will be able to play the game with a controller or a keyboard, but right now, to really enjoy it you have to use a wheel. This is because until the physics and tire model are not finished it's impossible to balance the controller filters.
Will be keeping an eye out.
I will be very interested in this game if it has gamepad support which is as competitive as having a wheel.

I just don't have the space on my desk to use one.

I use a controller in my main PC (donīt have the space to use the wheel there), the wheel i use it in my secondary PC, so iīm often playing the same game with a controller or a wheel depending on what PC iīm using. I rather use the wheel, but i also enjoy when a game is made to use the controller.
Donīt worry there are lots of members at WDM that want the game to be controller friendly, itīs just that unfortunately it has to wait until the game is more advanced.

Hi all!

Question, does Project Cars have an SLI profile ? Can't find anything on my nvidia inspector (313.96 BETA)

Can't yield any straight forward answers through google either.

Hopefully someone here can answer my question. Thx

Not yet, the game is not finished and Sli and crossfire are low priority for now, but you can make Sli work if you copy your exe and rename it AFR-FrienlyD3D.exe

Here i am again, another 2 weeks have gone by and “Oh my god” could they have been even better?

Let’s start with something I’ve spoken last time, the Grid Girls, I couldn’t show you images before but now I have one that can be shared.
Beware those with heart condition or that recently took Viagra, what you are about to see may cause undesired effects!

This is one of the variations (work in progress), there are others planned with different outfits/faces.

Another thing that may cause some funny feelings down there is the recent car announcement, the RUF RGT-8.
You may think the announcement isn’t that exciting, you already knew it was coming, but what if you could see some images of the car in-game? Oh yeah!!

Yes it’s not a Porsche we all know that, but it is a sexy beast and look at “DAT ASS” , even as a very early preview of the car it looks amazing and its hoped to come to a build in the next weeks.

Besides these 2 great news there’s another one for all the French car lovers out there, the Pirault Mega RS, similar to a Renault Megane III RS Cup this baby has been brought in-game to give the Focus RS some hard time and I must say it’s a really nifty car to drive. Slower in the straights than the RS but when you get into a corner you will just be gaining so much it wont matter how fast the Focus RS goes! (unless you are in a oval!)

More images available here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/9loe4f7er...Pirault Megane

The fog effect also got some work done recently with the addition of a mist effect that looks absolutely brilliant and turns the whole experience much more immersive, you can check them below.

Do you have the guts to try and drive in these conditions?

The physics was another department that also suffered some changes recently with the addition of the flexible tire carcasses, we are starting to notice deformation on the tires and a different reaction in terms of grip depending on the compound used, there’s a lot of progress in this area with multiple tires currently available for different cars but not quite finished! The feedback from the community and our resident consultants (Nicolas Hamilton and Ben Collins) has helped the developers to deliver a lot of fixes and improvements to turn this game into something that can’t be explained any longer by just using words or images.

Another great addition was the introduction of a built-in Downsampling method, delivering the same quality as the former AA methods like MSAA4x and 8x but with a better performance, theres still some edges that need refinement but the developers are on the right track, you will notice in the next community (coming next week) gallery for sure the difference it makes.

That’s all for now, hope you guys have enjoyed this update!

The new AA method is great, bye bye jaggies, better fidelity, and the performance hit is not very high

Some pictures from the galleries.

This are all ingame screnshoots

If everything goes right i'll post an update tomorrow with some ingame footage of both RGT-8 and M3 GT4, it depends only if the devs release the candy or not

It's been candy all right.

A shame I have no space for a required steering wheel.

My desk doesnt work for a wheel either. consider a stand at all? Adds to the cost, but it is nice and stable. Or if youre handy and have tools, can build one yourself. lots of good tutorials on the web

Hey there folks, another update with some great news.
You read on my latest update that the RUF RGT-8 was announced and I’ve shown you some pics that the developers shared with us, well now I can show you pics taken by myself ingame showing the car in its full glory, you can check them below.

Theres also some extra good news, out of nowhere the developers presented us with another BMW, this time the BMW M3 E92 GT4 and even tho its not a full detailed version like the RUF RGT-8 it still looks stunning, still in a early stage of development.

Both vehicles will be available in the next build coming out Friday!

Martin Griffiths, one of the Render Coders behind the Madness Engine also been working his butt off these past weeks with a huge amount of bug fixes and new features to increase the quality even further. If you think this game already looks good, the next incoming features will just blow your mind!

That’s all for now, hope you guys enjoyed!

Who is using a G27 with this game? I don't know if I want to get a Driving Force GT or just pony up and go with the G27 I've been wanting forever. Does the clutch pedal and everything work if so?

G27 is fully compatible with Project CARS and in my opinion an much better wheel than the DFGT.

I had a DFGT for quite a while. It was a great starter wheel. But you will get a much better experience out of the G27. The H gate shifter, and real paddles are great. The pedals themselves are much much better than the DFGT ones.

I've used my brothers G25, I imagine the 27 is just as good if not better.

Myself I have a fanatec GT2 and just love it.
