Is Crysis 3 the best looking game to date?

Just a thought on what everyone thinks of Crysis 3 as the new graphic king that takes the crown as rig killer. If not, name a game that looks better IN YOUR OPINION stating why.

In my opinion it is the best looking game to date, a shame the game isn't the best. I could only imagine though how a game like half life 2 remade in CE3 would be, just amazing.

No, I've seen better eg the upcoming splinter cell blacklist looks way better than crysis 3, Oh even the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes looks way better than crysis 3 due to its Fox Engine

I don't think these games have better textures or world effects. Crysis 3 has some amazing interactive effects, such as the light reflected off all surfaces from water ripples that react to movement.

You can shoot through grass and it moves with the impact. There are many small things that all add up.

A lot of games out there can look pretty but the world itself is not 'alive'. I think Crysis 3 goes out of it's way to make the entire environment feel tangible. I'll give Crysis 3 my vote on that front. Pretty texture mapping is not as impressive as 'pseudo' realistic environmental effects.

Overall yes, even that face render on the PS4 can't touch psycho's face and Crysis 3 does that with a whole environment around it.

Not even close. Splinter Cell is meh even in the pc caps and Metal Gear is 100% blur/depth of field to hide ultra low res textures. Not that you can blame them when they're locked to ancient console tech. The most improved area on fox is the character animations which is about all they could really do with those resources.

I found that the AA settings were slightly off, Fxaa worked well good fps and well as you go up the settings theres a massive fps decrease! not good for the mid range guy!

The Witcher 2 has the best lightning I have ever seen.
Dirt 3 is also outstanding
Some of GTA IV mods are amazing
Far Cry 3 for a lot of reasons
Assassin's Creed 3, best ambiance I have ever seen

And a lot of other games!!!

For me Crisis 3 sucks, just like the other Crisis.

If you played MGS3 back in 2004 when it come out it already had all those environmental effects it was more alive as you could cut grass with your knife cut tree backs, and pretty much anything

Amazing scenery, artwork and character design though.

DICE has some nice global illumination using pre baked light probes. I suspect Fox engine uses same tech.

Crytek, on the other hand, is using tech called cascaded light propagation volumes (I don't know if it's in Crysis 3): Cascaded Light Propagation Volumes For Real-Time ...

I am honestly disappointed in the graphical quality of Crysis 3. For me, the scene is very blurry in all AA modes and the textures are not all that high resolution.

For me, I think Crysis 1 or Warhead with some mods are still the greatest looking games I have ever played.

The Crysis series has lost me as a customer for this VERY reason..
People care more about graphics than game content.
If I wanted to just look at pretty graphics, I'd watch benchmarks all day..

Crysis 3 is one big benchmark.. That's how I feel and that's why it fails imho..
Crysis 1 was great..
Every other Crysis has been garbage imo..

Also Crytek is going to loose the "best looking game" title soon, if they keep this cross platform stupification up..
Took months for Crysis 2 to get good mods and I still didn't think the game looked good enough..

But, where we are mostly computer pros. I was more blown away at BF3's look than I was Crysis 3..

looks great but not enough for so much hardw. reqs. it doesnt made any high graphics or gaming revolution in C3 with cryengine3. is blurry in many ways and eats a lot of hardware to look blurry? no way. +1 BF3 and 1+FC3. i think crytek should improve and look for what a gamer wants.
