Indeed, he is right. I have trouble playing ns2 anymore unless I am with the right set of people. I don't care if I am losing but ns2 is a team game and must be played as such. Much more fun that way too. To get as good as the pros takes hundreds of hours though. They all have 1000+ game hours. I myself am only at 450.

If I can tear myself away from my crippling DOTA addiction, I may pop in and do some NS2. I own the game but haven't played much. It's pretty fun, but when I was playing it I had a crappy Toshiba HDTV as my monitor and it was too laggy for FPS games.

I am still curious what you guys who just tried it thought.
I updated the OP with more recent and relevant links to videos and what not. I put in the two trailers on the thread so they are watchable without going to youtube. I added my take on the game. I also recommended specs because I feel the recommended specs should be higher. The game made it to #5 on steams top sellers during the free weekend. |

An interesting new community made mod was just released.
Xenoswarm Our vision for Xenoswarm is a cross between a "Left 4 Dead" style co-operative experience and the asymmetrical combat that you all know and love in NS2. Choose from one of three classes (Assault, Support and Scout), each with their own unique abilities and work together to escape from the clutches of the alien horde. Planned features A class system with three different classes. A completely rewritten XP and upgrade system. AI-controlled enemies and allies. A builder weapon for the marines to allow creation of outposts. New weapons: Submachine Gun, Knives, Portable scanner, Laser trip mines and more! That is another great thing about ns2. You buy one game but get access to what is only a few mods at the moment, but more are coming. New maps with story-based progression. Difficulty scaling with the number of players and friendly bots making the game suitable as a single player experience. |

I just got this game, so far I think the Aliens are easier to play and overpowered over the marines, in every game i played, the aliens won

The global statistics are almost exactly 50/50 on who wins. In my experience though, aliens win more too. I could go a bit more on strategy and why I think aliens win more but I think it is moot. In general are you enjoying the game? |
