Advice on Scythe slim 12mm fans for WC

Hello!

I am currently building my watercooling loop using a Lian Li PC-V700WX (already own the case). On the top 240mm opening of the case there is barely enough space for a HWLabs BlackIce GTStealth 240mm radiator (29.7mm according to internet specs) and the Scythe "Slip Stream Slim - SY1212SL12 l/m/h" fans (12mm) to fit on the inside of the case (25mm fans interfere with the mobo/ram). I dont want to have a radiator or fans stuck on the outside top of this case (it would ruin this nice looking case).

My questions are:
1) How good/bad these slim fans are for a slim radiator with (as far as I know) 25fpi? (I currently own 4x Corsair SP120 fans, so how worst are those slim Scythe fans?). I am very concerned about the noise.
2) Which edition should I get (I am aiming for silent pc). 800rpm (low)? 1200 (mid)? or 1600 (high)?
3) Do you think any other <30mm rad would do better with those fans?
4) What is the difference between GTStealth and GTStealth-Lite rads?
5) Do you think it is worth using such slim rad and slim fans or I should go for an external watercooling radiator (not attached to the case)?

I am using a single CPU (i7 930 4ghz but soon replacing with newer platform) and single GPU (HD7970 - will never go Xfire) and plan to buy the HWLabs SR1 280mm + corsair AF140 (already own the fans) (front mounting mod on the case) and some 240mm top mounted rad (still not decided which).

Those fans will perform extremely poorly on a radiator, especially one with 30 fins per inch like the Stealth rad. I would try almost anything to avoid that situation. The depth of the case should also be taken into account. The radiator is almost always centered in the top of the case, which leaves a substantial cavity between the edge of the rad and the back of the case.

I'd use the 800D you have in your system specs

Best keep using the current SP120 fans, I don't think they will be that bad. If you still wish to replace them with Scythe fans, better get regular Slip Streams and not the slim variants which are not made for radiators. Gentle Typhoon fans might work as well, but I don't know whether they will perform any better than SP120s on rads. (probably not).

And if you are planning to use that many fans anyway, I guess that you could go for air as well which is more straightforward (less headaches with regards to getting enough static pressure, just needing enough airflow without too much noise).

Keep the SP120's and buy a fan controller if you don't have one. I use the SP120's for my rad in my main rig with a fan controller and they work great.

I didn't understand that MT Alex. Also I'll be keeping the 800D for the current setup but I do intend to watercool this Lian Li case (due to its convenient small size and slick looks) using either a z77 or z87 platform if it is not delayed. I just hoped I wouldn't have to put radiators/fans on the outside

So now I'm just thinking should I use a slim radiator with lower fpi (such as Alphacool NexXxoS ST30) with 2xSP120 fans mounted outside with this shroud http://www.lian-li.com/v2/en/product...34&ss_index=36 (can't find where to buy it though ) or should I mount a normal (thick) radiator outside and have the fans on the inside... hm...

Otherwise I could just go on with a 120mm SR1 rad mounted on the back and the 280mm SR1 on the front of the case. Can this be enough for an overclocked CPU and single GPU?
