How is this pc?

Hey guys, I have had this 1366 i7 pc for a little over a year and recently i upgraded quite a bit of shit and want to see what you guys think.

intel i7 920 2.67G (OC'd to 4.2G)
asrock x58 extreme MB
12G Corsair Dominator GT 2000Mhz DDR3 memory (run it at 2133 or someshit)
2 X PNY gtx470's sli
10,000rpm 300G hd
Corsair Hydro Series H80 liquid CPU cooler.
Corsair Professional Series 1200W psu

And I know the 470's are old but they will do the trick rather than spend $500 on a 680 or something. Anyway I know I need a SSD added to this and that is on the list but for now, this will have to do. Any and all feedback is welcome. This is an aging pc that still gives me 190fps constant in black ops 2. Thanks and see you around.

seems all good to me....I wouldn't upgrade anything on it...not even an SSD...
I'd put the money back so when that PC is no longer usefull you have the money to build a better system...but that one still has plenty of time on it yet.

Ummm, well, I can honestly say I find nothing wrong with that rig, and as long as gaming performance is up to your expectation, why bother to change anything? Upgrade only when it cannot meet with your gaming expectation.....especially in newer games, if it can
keep up, again, don't bother to upgrade.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. Yeah, the system is pretty damn strong as like I said on the original post, I run black ops at max everything and pull 190 constant fps. Got to love a good gaming rig.

But the other point of view is the 470s are goin down in value daily. I think even more so then the other parts. Would it be smart to sell them why you can get more for them? I mean look at what the 280s go for now. Just thinking outloud

Never mind about the PSU no need to downgrade from an Gold one.

He has 2 X 470 and those things eat electricity like space monsters. I'd say at least 800W but 1200 is overkill unless he is overclocking.

My old system was core I-7 920 @ 4,2
2x 480gtx those cards fried two Asus gene 2 mainboards.

System was pulling 630W under full FURMARK load (dual gpu mode).

sell those cards while they're still worth something and buy one of these PowerColor AX7870 2GBD5-2DHPPV2E Radeon HD 7870 GH... , it should offer similar/better gpu performance for less than half the power consumption, it's a good value card and has also more vram.

Hey, i hear you about dumping the cards while they are still worth something and the 1200W psu is overkill, I know this already. This is the first time I have run sli, just wanted to make sure i could get it going, it was a piece of cake. But I have been considering upgrading the cpu and motherboard at some point but I might wait for intel to come out with the next generation arcitecture rather than buy an ivy bridge 1155. So point being, I picked up that 1200W psu in anticipation of running two 680's sli here sometime this summer. I also got that 12G Dominator 2000Mhz memory for that new system as well. Not sure exactly how it's all going to play out but I am kind of evolving my system into the latest and greatest small chunks at a time. But I really appreciate the information and opinions, good forums here.

Haswell will not be much of an upgrade from what you have (like 20% or alittle more) so really should just keep everything and get a 7970 or GTX 680.

so you are just comfirming my point. You want your load to be less than 80% of capacity of your PSU. Since chips tends to slowly creep up in power consumption and PSU supplies less stable power over time. You need that buffer. Plus loading your PSU that high will only accelerate its death.

Yes and no. 1200W are over kill and if he updates to the new cards we are recommending he drops to around 350W-400W under full load. That´s why i posted a 650W PSU

He can continue to use the 1200w. No reason to buy a new PSU just because its capacity is more then he needs

I say add a high capacity ssd if he can afford them. everything else looks good, and I do recommend to sell your 470 sli as you can still get some money off them and grab something new like a 7870 or 7950, it should have great performance and by the time you might want to add another one for crossfire or a 660 ti/670 for sli. or even sell it and buy those 9xxx in the future or something.
