Can you Create a Window Decal?

I was looking for a way to create my own decal.
I have a nice Protoss pic (from Starcraft) that I want on my case and I was wondering how I could create the decal.

Thanks

yes, there are many ways to get an image onto the acrylic window. The most common (also the most risky) would be to make an etch with a dremel and etch the decal into the window, this is risky because there is too much human variable. If there are any window/glass shops in your area localy go there and see if they have a cnc machine that will cut a specific picture, here in my area our highschool has one and it cost me about 5 bux for it.

edit- there are also many web companies that will do it for you too, just send in the piece and the pic you want done and they will mail it back finished (using a cnc machine, so localy would prolly be cheaper)

velocity is spot on on that one. personally, i like the dremeling method. theres plenty of good guides online on how to do it right, and if you're careful, it looks real nice. plus, if you shine a high-intensity LED down the side of the acrylic window, zowaga it looks amazing! (for reference, i think theres a thread somewhere in this subforum w/ pictures of some of the custom etchings i did earlier. i might try to dig it up)

another method is sandblasting. Theres these little cans you can get that you spray on acrylic that give it that sandblasted look. personally, i haven't used that method before.

or you can just buy cheap stick-on decals that emulate the real deal for about $5. but that doesn't really work for your method i guess.

Why don't you get a sheet of see thru sticker paper and print it out yourself.

if you can get your hands on a laser etching machine, it looks real slick. but not many people just have one of those sitting around... heh.

what looks REALLY nice is etching bare aluminum. think powerbook titaniums, etc, those looked real slick laser etched.

You can even do it yourself
Artists used to do it alot when canvases were unavailable. Theyd scratch away the surface to different depths to create different levels of tone and then theyd dip the etching into an acid bath to make it look interesting .

Or you could go water cut. That would be uber cool
But a DIY sticker is probably the easiest solution, as Technics said

just tape off your design then get a spray on window frosting from the hardware store. if you cant find it ask for the window film for frosting windows. it is peel and stick film. if they dont know what your asking for then just go get transparenr shelf paper. it gives the same frosted look.

another way is to get the transparent colored glass paint from craft store for a stained glass look.
