I've decided to find a padowan

Curious? I bet. Its like this; over the course of time I've had many requests for me to take individuals under my wing and teach them the arts of the PC. Up until now I didnt see any reason to. Call it old age or wisdom or whatever you will, but this has changed. I decided to take ONE person who wants to learn, and teach them many things. However its not as simple as that. If you want me to teach you, you will need to pass a series of tasks, who I end up choosing may not be the person who "scores" the most points from the given tasks, but rather the one who can demonstrate their overall understanding and technical prowess of the given task. Some tasks I will post here, and some I will send to potential padowans via PM to prevent any copying of eachothers work and just modifying it.

So, whos interested? There are 4 slots to fill, only one of which will be chosen when its all said and done.

Ok, you 6 are the only 6. Taking into consideration the age of some of you, the first task is rather straightforward and simple. Going back to when Super Socket 7 was the greatest thing ever, I want an explanation from each of you 6 on how you would OC the system, and a explanation of all expansion slots your super socket 7 board used. You can choose any super socket 7 board you wish.

Also, specify what your super 7 system components would be. Timescale is between the years 96-98. Feel free to use any hardware that was available between those time periods to specify your super socket 7 system. I obviously cant specify in what I'm looking for by asking to see your choosings for a super 7 system, but I can specify this; the greatest most powerful hardware for that timescale is not what I'm looking for.

Any submitted answer here or in PM to me is final - no editing allowed

Timescale for this task is one week. Should be plenty of time.

No. just saying with any given situation theres a multitude of knowledge that may come to mind, but its about selecting the most relavent of that knowledge and applying it efficiently that makes the difference between someone whos good with technology, and someone who is godlike with technology. Think of it along the lines of a 6th sence, some people just "know" what to do, others need to put more work into it. Its those who just "know" that are the true masters.
