Quad-core notebook pictured

Techwarelabs brings some spy shots of what is considered to be the first quad-core notebook in existence.

This laptop will supposedly support dual 8800 Video cards, a 17" screen and chassis, two internal hard drives up to 160GB each, and the new quad core Intel CPU, all using a 975 chipset.

Good luck trying to cool all that.

Actually I think this is pretty cool. If anyone else here can build that much power into that much space and not have the thing overheeat then fine, but I don't believe you could. This thing will not overheat otherwise they wouldn't be going to sell it. Most innovative cooling designs were first used in Notebooks (Heatpipes for example), so lets not knowck this product until it come out and get properly reviewed.

hell no, im not knocking it in any way at all, quad core in a laptop is awsome. just having a poke at the usual "hot" tendancies of hi powered laptops

With the proper array of heatpipes, that thing could be an asset to campers everywhere, especially when their stove runs out of gas or they need to start a fire .

A guy I know uses 550w antec (slightly modded) for most of his testing.

Last one he described:

quad core intel
few gigs of ddr2
8800sli

under MASSIVE overclock of course, using dryice

So you dont really need all those megakilowatt supplies.

Except for 'notebooks' like these.

besides heat and power problems, they're going to make two 8800's run off a 975 based chipset?
