Pre-overclocked cards

I'm not sure where I read this, but I distinctly remember someone saying that pre-overclocked cards are more likely to have more problems than cards the user overclocks to the same speed. Am I just making this up by myself or what? Thanks.

Hmm not all cards make it in the OC market. They test those before they sell them, but yes sometimes they do burn up faster than the non-oced ones.

It's a luck of the draw with all ocing and with it lasting.

OK, thanks m8. Mine is OC'ed and I've only had a few problems.

I read an article a while back, that said some cards tested that can't reach much higher speeds (than stock) become overclocked a few Mhz, then are sold as Pre-Overclocked cards. They're Pre-Overclocked, but won't go much higher than the speeds they already have.

Not too sure on this, but it was on an article I read.
