ASUS 7800GTX-DUAL Card Final Design
"This is how the final design of the ASUS Extreme N7800GT-DUAL box and card will look like. Apparently ASUS chose to use a red PCB and a nice cooling solution with a fan in the center to cool down the two GPUs. This card uses 1.6ns GDDR3 memories with a total of 512MB onboard. The overclockability of this card is pretty decent reaching 489Mhz core and 1389MHz memory and scoring 27203 in 3DMark03 and 11138 in 3DMark05 using Athlon 64 4000+ processor. Interestingly ASUS only produce 2000 of such cards."

2000 cards? That IS interesting. I'm sure they probably went through a lot of trouble to design that card and now they're selling 2000? Mmmm. Then I guess the price of this card would surpass development costs? IOW it's gonna be expensive!

The performance of these cards are usually only marginally better than two of the same cards in SLI due to the latency and all that, but since the 7800's need more bandwidth we'll have to see if the single 16x slot will do... If you consider the price of the 7800GT (approx. $350) the price of this baby will be in the vicinity of $680-$750?

We're not alone, there's a reason they're only producing 2,000 of them. They'll be very expensive, huge, and you can't SLI them anyway. So why the hell not buy 1 normal 7800GTX, and upgrade with a second later, if you must? With the next gen this card will be absolutely worthless, while regular 7800GTX's will be normal cards of the last gen, which you can sell for a decent % of their original price. This thing will devaluate big time.

It says SLI ready on the box, but I dont see a SLI connector
![]() Anyways it would be better to get SLI 7800GTX, each having its own dedicated bandwidth.
