System Specs

7900GTX or x1950pro

good evening/night all,

which of the two cards is the best to buy:

xfx Geforce 7900gtx 512mb ddr3 @ £105 or x1950 512mb ddr3 @ £82

cost, electricity are issues which is why i am not going for anything above these prices until the next series of dx10 products and quad core cpus are available,

any advice is much appreciated TIA.

The 7900GTX is the faster card, either cards would last at least another 12 months before better 2nd/3rd generation DX10 cards are released.

Yes but current DX10 cards suck in DX10 including the X2900XT/8800GTX.

If it were me choosing between those two cards, I'd go for whatever was cheaper. They both should give you great performance.

GTX obviously, but where can you get one for that cheap? They're usually around three times as expensive as the PRO.

i have an 8800gts and love it.....as for the 79 and the 1950 pro i would go with the 7900gtx...had a 1950 pro and didn.t like the way it overclocked......

7900GTX.... afaik depends on what games you play. Like NFS:C the X1950PRO is two times faster at max shader settings, but different for other games.
