Thinking About Getting A Water Cooling Setup

So I was thinking of going with a water cooling setup for my system. I would like a kit that would cool everything but was also looking into the
Coolit Freezone at $349.99 CAD but it's pretty pricey for just a CPU cooler.

But their is also the Coolit Eliminator thats $150 cheaper.

The kit I was looking at was the Swiftech H20-220 Apex ULTRA+ Complete System Liquid Cooling Kit for $349.99 CAD So what would you guys suggest?

My budget is around $350 CAD maybe more if you think it's worth it I just want something relatively quiet as my system right now sounds like a jet engine and gets pretty hot I think I may have overheated my mobo which is being RMA'ed right now and is taking a long ass time getting back to me.

Oh yeah and I don't want to have to mod my case if possible to install the setup. Don't be afraid to go over my price limit (Max would be 500CAD though) I will have more money soon and have to wait for my mobo to come back. Just a quick question will the kit I posted be able to cool my 8800gts? Cuz thats important to me.

well... i know that the swiftech ultra kit is a brilliant one for the budget, only u would have to either drill 2 holes or if ur case has it alredy, pass the holes for the tubes through them... and yes, it should be able to cool ur 8800gts fine, u may need a different waterblock for it tho...

edit... i think ur case alredy has the water cooling holes, the radiator will just sit on the back of the case... so no mods needed...

No my case has no holes for the tubbing but it shouldn't be to hard to do. thanks for info on the kit. i was looking at the Ek Water Blocks Full Coverage for the card is it any good?

Don't go with "But their is also the Coolit Eliminator thats $150 cheaper. " This is real cheap stuff. It broke in few days.

the GPU block that comes with the swiftech ultra kit works with the 8800 cards

cuz I know some one on here had a Ek Water Blocks Full Coverage and sold it and got a swiftech GPU block I think, but that the temps where lower then the Full block

yeah if you only want to cool your cpu the freezone will do it easier.. though swifttech Im sure if more powerful and a real watercooling set-up.

Edit: I think your better off picking your parts, you dont really need to water cool your NB or SB.. some active cooling(fan blowing on it) will keep your NB cool... watercooling your NB/SB just adds more kinks to your water set-up.. build a kit for your cpu/gpu is your best bet.. ask someone on here to round up some good parts from Ncix for you in your budget.. I dont know exactly what parts are best but custom water cooling set-up is the way to go, you can start just by watercooling your cpu than buy a gpu block later to keep in budget if needed.

both coolit products are TEC cooling, which will beat your standard water cooling system by a mile or so i would theorize.

.. how come they dont have TEC radiators for regular water cooling systems?

So am I hearing a yes to the swiftech ultra kit? any other kits I should be looking at If I am to get a kit?

Edit: Maybe I should go with a custom setup thanks Chewy. Anyone have suggestions for a custom setup though?

Well Ive been thinking about it and am leaning towards the swiftech kit only because it will have instructions on how to instill it and I don't know ALL the parts I would need for a custom setup. But I would like to know if the swiftech gpu block is really better than the EK water block?

If someone would be kind enough to build a custom water cooling setup with ncix or something I would really appreciate it $350 CAD to $500 CAD is the budget.

swifttech is the best brand overall I think I dont know to mxuha bout theses methods of cooling but I ahve read good stuff about tec when under load.. if you just want a easyt o set up good cpu cooler than go with that one I think.. some people add a chiller to get thier water cooler meh but the tec does a good job look into it more too, Im sure that swiftech kit is nice but you dont really need to water cool your NB aND sb its overkill and hampers your flow but im sure it still does a decent job.

I cant organize you one but someone around here will be able to.. I dont know exactly what parts are best maybe ask dave or someone if he can mention what partsare good he has a similar cpu/gpu set-up to your I think and a leet water cooling set-up .. humm you know who Im talkinga bout? I forget how to spell his name correctly he hasent been around to much lately but if you take a look at what parts he uses it would be something to o by since hes leet.

well the freezone and eliminator are watercooling systems with TEC cooling the water. the TEC would cool the water, and it would cool it under ambient temps, [which a radiator running on fans cant, or so i would theorize].

swiftech, danger den, and koolance are your main water cooling manufactuers, and that swiftech kit looks great. though you can build your own WC system as well, and you can pick out higher quality parts and parts that will suit your system better then what a kit can..

Id rather have the Tec mounted directly on the cpu than pay for a water cooling system to cool cpu, NB and video card and pay extra for a tec
