Why don't you put your benchmark scores on HwBot so we can see your true performance against other Q6600's?

Dang, that's what Namslas says I can get it up to.

I read this link on overclocking Q6600, and it said only 3.3ghz was the highest at stable.
Shit, i ain't sure.
Tell me if this is folly or what this link?
I figured safer then sorry.
heheh.
I can always overclock it more then try prim95 for a few hrs.

3.3GHz is the max for a B3. A G0 should be able to hit 3.9 or higher with the proper cooling. Sinze you only have a zalman 9700, I would stay with 3.6 or less. To get into the really extreme clocks you need like a Tuniq Tower or Thermalright 120

400x9 should be fine.

I tried 3.5ghz, temps were good 38c,37c,40c,38c.
Yea man, i tried 3.5 but pc rebooted when doing stress test with prime95.

So i'm back down to 3.34ghz. 367x9
And at this article it says 3.3 was all this guy could get...some geek who knows his geek! hah.a.
Said stability was issue when getting only 3.5 ghz..so it happened to me too...lol...sok..still fast ....i like it!

read his try on the q6600.
thanks for your help tho...
I like the zalman fan man...it keeps my cpu very very cool indeed.

gravefiller, what speed was your memory running at when the q6600 was running at 3.5g? people have been able to reach 3.7 with air.... try adjusting your memory dividers and other junk, idk much about intel ocing, but for amd's, you drop the htt link to stablize the system.

I'm still learning about the memory.
Thanks man!

make sure you have a nice memory cooler , after about 2.35(i think it was), loads of memory chips start getting fried, unless if you've got some micron d9s, but still its nice to brag that you have a memory cooler . the corsair is sweet, you can find it on newegg. it's probably your mobo thats unstable, not your cpu, newer intel mobos have shitloads of voltages, try uping all of em up a tad, like the nb voltage (vmch), fsb termination voltage, southbridge voltage, etc. etc. i hardly know what one like the termination voltage do, but they put more voltage to your mobo which will help stablize it, so try that..

I'm stuck on 3.34ghz..lol.

I'm noob at overclocking, so I get tons of different thoughts on what to do in here.

Drunkenmafia sez he can get my rig up to 3.6 no problem, that i'm overclocking my whole system, and not one thing at a time...lol...whatevers easiest, that's my path!
hahah.

My memory allready comes with nice ass heatspreader....u see the pics of the the tracer in there?

And since it's crucial ballistix tracer..of course it's D9 Micron chips. don't u know that?
heheh.
o.k will look at the memcooler on newegg..thnx for the advice.
I changed the volts back to auto, didn't want to do something stupid, my system became unstable, so I put it back to auto.
Not sure what's the problem.
It it's the mobo, that needs more volts, i've got to see a screenshot of the settings or the list of changes that i must make.
Will try your suggestion later today...perhaps..heheh.
thanks man.
