Nah you just grab the ultra skinny kid with really small hands and arms and tell him to knock some pop down off the rollers for ya.

yeah, those are old machines - back in high school we had those . . . our trick (which worked ALL the time) was to turn around, lift your leg and slam your heel into the machine just above the coin return . . .

we had the machines soooooo messed up, that you'd put in a dollar, choose your drink, and it'd spit your dollar back out, shit $1.25 in change, and give you your drink!

A few of us grabbed a old Pspsi machine that would steal money all the time, rolled it down two flights of stairs. It landed on its back with soda spraying everywhere, but I grabbed two that were unbroken as we split the moolah. A whole $5.75

A week later there was a new one. No one confessed.

Reminds me of our old coke machine at school...if you held down the button and the change release button, you would get the coke AND the change would fall right through....they changed the machine a few months after :P

You should get a manufacturer/service menu on the machine.
eg, Press 1 to do ..., press 2 to do ...

I tried it on one with an LCD screen.

Yep. That worked on more than soda machines, too. Old change machines will spit money out if you hit them just below the coin return. My best friend and I kept ourselves with cigarettes during high school by beating the shit out of the change and soda machines. lol

Heh I remember being able to do that! But I was a bit younger.

When I was in HS/college, we used what we called the "magic dollar" trick - a bill with about a foot of clear packaging tape attached to 1/8" at the end of the bill.

Feed the bill into the machine, yank the thing out at just the right moment, and credit yourself one dollar.

The advantage was that you could use one dollar to buy ALL the items out of a machine (cigarettes, candy, soda), get all the change out, and leave an empty machine. All without having to bang on or otherwise clobber a defenseless machine, which causes a lot of noise and often attracts attention. Not that filling up a garbage bag with candy, soda, and cigarettes doesn't attract attention....

At one point in college I was paying my rent this way, but that was a good 15 years ago when rents were cheap and life was good . I'm pretty sure that the trick doesn't work in newer machines.
