McDonald's to Offer Free Wireless Internet in United Kingdom
Seeking a new way to bring customers to McDonald's, McDonald's now is the proud owner of the largest free wireless internet provider in the United Kingdom. Every McDonald's restaurant within the United Kingdom will give their customers free access to wireless internet in the store. This is a vast improvement from the regular way to access wireless internet in the UK, which generally involves a contract/pay-as-you-go service, which can add up to 5 pounds per log-in. After the 1,200+ McDonald's restaurants all have free wireless internet, they will own 10% of all wireless coverage in the UK.

Star Bucks has it. Mc Donald's should too. And later on, maybe Jack In The Box lol. They better provide the convinence technology for their customers. Students, business people, and others, including mr. hacker, are everywhere now. It's a good start.

The story's not about free wireless access in the US (common), but free wireless access in Europe (very rare), esp the UK where wireless pricing is INSANE. The example was £5, or $10, just to "connect"!!!

Who uses a laptop in Mcdonalds, or any restaurant for that matter
![]() Fair enough if your a very busy person and your always on the go with your laptop, but I rarely see people walking around with laptops, even in the city. I mean, if your so busy that you have to eat and work at the same time you would probably pack your own lunch and not even leave your workplace. On top of that, large double Quarter Pounder meal (greaseburger ) + laptop =

Try visiting a city where there IS freely available access points, and take a look around. You'll see lots of people taking advantage of the connection. PS>>> US and Europe is very different than australia where all you boys are out bbq'ing, surfing and looking for sheilas ;-P |

Krystals offers it here and alot of the hotels and stuff do to. Also, the resorts as well. I think some others do, like Burger King, but I dont know why Mickey Ds dont do that in the US
