Ati X850XT Running at 107c - Need Help

Hey guys, as the title sais, at full load after about 30 minutes of playing oblivion, with the fan on 100%, ati control centre shows my card running at 107c, i started to have heat problems around the last 2 months.

My comp is around 2 years old, but only in the last few months have i had problems, at these heats it's causing me to lag pretty badly, making it unplayable, for example oblivion is lag free for around 30 minutes then begins to lag badly, and i have no idea to the cause of this, my surroundings are cold (and i mean very cold) and the side of the case is off, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Edit: my Card runs at around 50c idle, with the fan on 40% and around 40-45c on 100%, which is fine, it's only when i run oblivion it then skyrockets.

Are you using the stock HSF? Or an aftermarket one, also does the card artifact?

Yea but at those temps you could end up with no video card.....Look around for something cheap that will work for now.

If you have any past remove the cooler and redo it.

honestly you probably dont need to mess with any paste or anything, if you havent ever cleaned the card than that is why its heating up so much, now if you have cleaned it already and it didnt work i would suggest putting thermal paste, but you shouldnt have to though. and by the way im doing this while im on the phone with customers, im actual tech support lol.

dont forget that you can properly thank the people that helped using the thanks button

also i think just cleaning out the dust should fix the temps, no need to go through the trouble of applying paste, etc.
