EVGA step up...TRI-SLI
if any of you know of my previously large array of nvidia video cards.... i've sold all but 3. i've currently got 2 EVGA 8800gt 512 SC's and a EVGA 8800gtx. I am SERIOUSLY considering doing STEP UP to get 2 more gtx's to run a tri sli setup on my new 780i (evga of course) with 3 GTX's.
as i am in the middle of my CRAZY water cooling project(more to come) i dont have enough money to just go buy 2 GTX's new or used. i know a lot of you guys would just say to stick with the GT's or get 2 g92 gts's but im all about getting the crazy, over the top, setup. im also starting to miss my 8800ultra's which reminds me, im glad i saved the bios from them to use in the gtx's.ANYWAY... what is your opinion??? if this helps your decision any, this is what i have going.... components: silverstone TJ07 q6600 G0 evga 780i mobo corsair dominators (4x1gb 1066mhz) 2 WD raptor x's 1 WD 1TB enermax galaxy 1000watt(plenty to power 3 8800gtx's, already tryed) 8800gtx(and 2 GT's{not in at the same time of course}) Water stuff: d-tek fusion cpu block 3 danger den GTX blocks(kinda planed ahead i guess) 2 laing d5's 1 thermochill PA120.3 2 thermochill PA120.2's 12ft tygon 1/2''ID 3/4'' OD swiftech MCRES-MICRO(may not use in this setup, still debating) thanks for reading all of this and i look forward to hearing your opinions. please, no bashing. i am a Nvidia fanboy, just deal with it. i know ATI is good to... i just prefer the black and green(though, not the only reason). |

I think if you sold the W/C stuff and the 8800GT's you could get 2 more GTX's. You should be going for 3 Ultras!

1. not selling the water stuff... i just got it all yesterday.
2. probably shouldn't have sold the 2 ultra's but one was dying(RMA, i know, i know) 3. the GT's wont run in tri-sli and 2 isn't ideal for my 24'' acer LCD. AND PT... when i got my DL it cost me $15... maybe that's just texas though. i'd prefer a BMW M3 myself. AND WHERE DO I GET A SPONSOR? |

Fit, I thought 8800Gt's would run Tri-SLi with a software bridge? Is this true?
hmmmm .... there is no possible way to do a driver hack and have the gtx seen as a GT with lower clock and reduced ram? I dunno, I think I am speaking out my @$$ and being a n00b LOL |

Dude, go for it. Have the best system on TPU. If you got the money do it. If you don't....well I would say don't do it lol. But it looks like you can. Get a tec for the quad to...you'd have a real chance at maybe seeing a sponsor or two.

not according to hwbot
http://www.hwbot.org/hallOfFame.do?t...plicationId=12 you're just 11k points away from beign the 1st in single and multiple cards ![]() ghiorgos has some friends with ln2, catch a plane to greece and steal it, don't forget to pass by Portugal to borrow it to me for a couple days ![]() http://www.hwbot.org/result.do?resultId=679526 16th global score, you have to be in top 10 prob to get a sponsor, or be as lucky as wile e, or have good contacts and according to hwbot you're in 283 globally with the 2 ultras

im not out to be a record holder or anything remotely close. i just want something crazy and over the top that most people would love to have. i don't even care about beating anyone's scores or the bragging rights. i just want to have what most people would call overkill.

yep. as is basis. i was honest and i clearly listed everything i knew about it. the guy still bought it. $560 each.
they wouldn't go into SLI anymore on either of my 2 machines. one card bench about 600-800points lower when both tested at stock speeds. same results on 2 different machines. you can't tell me that wasn't a smart move. that's more than what i paid for them. Dude why not sell the two GT's and get one extra GTX. The two GTX's should be faster than what you have now. Then get the third one... |

man, if you can afford it, do it. i would if i could.
the 512 gt/gts only have 1 bridge so only sli, even worse is the fact that the 9800gx2 only has one too so no 6 sli either, only quad sli
