Featuring a tense storyline, filled with plot twists, the title thrusts players into battle like never before. With mid-range special effects, including rim-lighting, horrible blurring, low res textures and character self-shadowing, players are enlisted into one of the most photo-realistic gaming experiences imaginable*.

*only on PC version.

I didn't know you could even play Call of Duty 4 on Intel Integrated Video.

Seriously, about the only people I can even see able to play this are those that got a Macbook Pro with a mobile 8600GT or an iMac with a 2600 PRO, and even then it'd be cruddy.

Don't even talk about Mac Pro's -- the prices of one of the custom video cards for that thing are ridiculous.

Attention mac users...you're going to be getting a game soon that everyone already beat and is enjoying. It will be out of style before you get it, but smile because you're a mac user.

LoL! It's cute how Mac is tring to become a video game platform. At least starcraft is supposed to release at the same time. Anyway, the graphics cards in macs are pretty much junk. It will never look like the IGN preview videos if you're using a mac.

i own a macbook i also run windows on it why you ask? because apples hardware for some reason runs xp and vista faster than any laptop or pc i've ever ran it on.

This is true.

I just hope it plays online on the same networks as the PC version. I don't want to have to play against a bunch of Mac noobs (and also a MUCH smaller community as well).

I have to dual-boot to play Team Fortress 2 right now and it's pretty annoying, and I don't want to pay another $60 or more for a Windows virtual installer (VMWare, Parallels, Crossover, etc.) which would probably result in even worse performance.

Umm... no. The last time I checked, Macs and PCs use the same hardware. The only difference between an Apple and a PC is that Apple uses EMI instead of the BIOS found in PCs. Unless if you're doing benchmarks all day long, the only reason you're saying that is because you watch and believe Apple's commercials.

haha no the architecture's on most of the components are quailty and built better than some of the stuff that you get for a pc, i am not a fanboy of mac by any means i love pc's i love gaming etc. the only reason i own a macbook is cause this is small and fast for a laptop and its what i needed concidering i'd never ever buy a mac IF i couldnt run windows xp on it

Define what you mean by "architecture difference". If there was a difference that significant, then you wouldn't be able to run Windows on it in the first place. Anyways, Apple doesn't make the hardware in your MacBook. If you look inside it, there's going to be hardware made by the exact same brands that make PCs.

i am not saying its not the same hardware, its just like if you bought a 600 dollar laptop vs a 1200 dollar laptop i bet you that the hardware QUALITY is better than that of the 600 dollar one

Well obviously a 1200 dollar laptop will have newer and more powerful components, such as faster processor, graphics, and ram. Your stating the obvious there.

Mate. The hardware in a PC and Mac is same - Has a motherboard, memory, disk drives, graphics cards, sound boards, modems, etc. The manafactures for PC and Mac components are generally the same. Intel, Nvdia, ATI, etc. So from performance perspective MAC and PC should be the same.

Generally speaking, if one was to purchase a PC and a MAC system for the same budget, for lets say $2000 the chances are the PC would have the latest hardware equipped, you rarely see a MAC with the latest graphics card such as the Nvida 8800GTX/ATI 3870. PC tends to have a greater support in terms of component drivers, application updates, and game patches. So in terms of support PC would win hands down.

So to reiterate, PC are more likely to be equipped with the latest components, more software support through patches and updates, so whether you run your windows operating system on a MAC or PC the performance should the equivalent because they run equivalent hardware makeups.

True. Also don't forget that for these newer games to run their best, you need a monster Graphics card - not necessarily a monster CPU. Macs never have top of the line graphics cards, except the $5,000 Quadro FX - but that won't give you any benefit in games over 8800s or 2900s.

If you're wondering why people were correcting you, it's because you stated that there is some miraculous difference in a Mac that makes it "just run faster".

yeah... the intel macs are just that. intel chipset, intel CPU... but with no BIOS (EFI instead).

macs made a good business deal going with the intels, because they are tons faster than the average person is used to (comparing to older desktop/laptops, they are going to pwn a P4 or turion)

in laptops i've used running windows xp and vs the mac running xp and os x yes there where big differences for me ESPECIALLY running both at the same time..

thats just an OPINION and i think that the mac os utilizes alot of the hardware differently than windows does and that is what makes it do things faster with certain applications as...movie editing, photoshop cs2 and 3 dreamweaver..any editing program..it blows windows away...as far as an operating system handles resources.

i have both a mac and a pc and both have windows xp on it...and they aren't far off in specs from each other. it has NOTHING to do with the apple commercials flaming windows vista or any of the sort..its funny how many people actually contradicted themselves

ready for it

"macs aren't built for gaming"

"macs and pcs have "The same" hardware inside one another"

hm isnt that funny?
