Lite-On Introduces a Moldable Mouse That Can Take Any Shape
Lite-On has unveiled its Moldable Mouse that can be molded to any shape users prefer. It is made of non-toxic lightweight modeling clay, covered with nylon and polyurethane blend fabric, and can be shaped to fit any hand. Once molded, it keeps its shape until you are ready to reshape again. The stick-on buttons and scroll-wheel can be added to any location you like, and the device communicates via RFID. The Moldable Mouse is still in the concept stage, but it has already won a Red Dot design award. If it makes it to production, it will be good news for lefties, carpal-tunnelers and Gadget Lab editors alike.

Wow this is a neat concept in certain aspects.....and could possibly carry over to other input devices or peripherals. Interesting possibilities if it could be even further evolved.....imagine switching from a mouse to a keyboard, gamepad, or joystick on the fly. Although I know it would be much more complicated than that. If all else fails, it will be like the days of youth and Play-Doh.

What a clever idea instead of the usual bog standard design.

neat idea for a mouse though - but, I wonder how pliable that modeling clay will be in 6 months

Nifty
![]() I don't know how It would work in terms of how well it glides... and it may be a bit heavy for a mouse, but it's definitely got promise. |

this should include some kind of plastic base or something so the mouldable part wont get so dirty from the surface its used on, i wonder how it tracks te cursors movement, from the buttons? from the scroll wheel maybe???
cool idea tho maybe some decent brands will adopt this concept if it takes off |
