ATI's about 15 minuites from my house. I had one of their EGA/VGA wonders (cant remember which) in my old IBM PC AT. Still remeber the retail box and its rainbow colours (wish I kept it) and saw it their address and was like "cool, their right around the corner." Have a good engineer friend who worked there for a couple of years - he started his own Company with a few guys (not graphics related) and then got bought out.

Ah, ATI. I always have to support the home team. FTW

Edit: Damn (or should I say DAAMIT), I didn't even notice the original post date (was wondering why it said 20 year anniversary). Oh well.

That's OK, that means they will be celebrating their 23rd anniversary this year.

Old school graphics (in case you werent being sarcastic):

Quote:
In 1981, IBM introduced the Color Graphics Adapter (CGA). This display system was capable of rendering four colors, and had a maximum resolution of 320 pixels horizontally by 200 pixels vertically.

In 1984, IBM introduced the Enhanced Graphics Adapter (EGA) display. It allowed up to 16 different colors and offered resolution of up to 640 x 350.

In 1987, IBM introduced the Video Graphics Array (VGA) display system. This has become the accepted minimum standard for PCs. Some VGA monitors are still in use today. The maximum resolution depends on the number of colors displayed. You can choose between 16 colors at 640 x 480, or 256 colors at 320 x 200.
