Anti-Trust Lawsuit Claims Microsoft Knowingly Deceived Vista Customers
The whole "Vista Capable" sticker scandal was a mess, pure and simple. However, new evidence has prompted a new anti-trust lawsuit against Microsoft. It would seem as though it's entirely plausible that Microsoft was indeed trying to pull a fast one past Vista customers. Everyone who was shopping for a PC, or used a relatively-new PC a couple months before the Vista release probably saw that it came with a "Vista Capable" sticker. The new evidence shows that Microsoft may have planted Vista Capable stickers on computers not ready to run Vista at all, be it the premium version or the normal version. Men from inside Microsoft did everything from reprimand members of marketing to scoff at retailers who sent letters of concern to Microsoft. We'll keep you posted on what exactly comes out of this lawsuit. If you bought a "Vista Capable" computer with a "Vista Capable" sticker on it, you may just qualify for a settlement if this case comes through for the prosecution.
In short, it has been a very bad week for Microsoft. Source: DailyTech |

Probably wouldn't have been as big of an issue if they didn't have so many damn SKUs for Vista. It fargin ridiculous.

Those damn stickers could have been slapped on an old PC with a 800MHz CPU and 512 RAM with the specs MS lists for Vista. If you tried to run Vista on that, it'd be unbearably slow (and we thought it was already slow even on a quad-core...) Shame on you Microsoft for making an OS that's more demanding on system resources than some of my favorite games are, and shame on Microsoft again for misleading people that don't know anything about computers (nearly the entire population). User-friendly shouldn't mean screw-the-user-for-what-it's-worth.

We had one of these "laptops", It was heavy!
But nice green screen and even dual floppydrive (those 5.25" bendy ones). It has a handle in the back for carrying and that keyboard should go on top of the screen and then latched on for a bottom, but this model seems a bit different. Seems like it has detachable bottom, or I just remember wrong and ours had one too, it was maaany years ago

The stickers only said "vista capable" - not "runs vista really smoothly".

Anything that meets into the MSR of Vista becomes "capable" of running it....but well just running it, so you could stare at a pretty wallpaper and file your nails or play chess with dad while it peacefully loads IE.
