Diamond ‘Mistakenly’ Prints THX Logo on 3850 Box

How this happened is a bit of a mystery, but Diamond, a company best known for manufacturing ATI Radeon graphics cards, somehow managed to print the THX logo on its HD 3850 packaging – despite the fact that none of the company’s products have ever featured the technology. Diamond simply puts it down to a mistake by a former employee, so if you see a Diamond 3850 in BestBuy which claims to come equipped with THX, don’t get too excited. The company posted a statement online saying:
Quote:
It came to our attention that the “THX” logo mistakenly has been printed on 3850 box. This mistake happened as result of misunderstanding of former employee. This is to confirm that this product and or any other Diamond’s products have ever supported “THX”. This mistake has been corrected.
So which other companies are advertising features that they don’t actually offer?!

'This is to confirm that this product and or any other Diamond’s products have ever supported “THX”.'

the whole statement maybe is a bit wacky, but that could also be because I'm dutch (so my command of the english language isn't perfect either).

nevertheless in the quoted sentence I would have expected 'Never"!

am I the only one???

I tend to think non-native speakers of a language notice the small gramatical mistakes people make since they're not just used to hearing them.

Like the difference between never and ever. I really don't know.

Personally, I would say, "Never, never, EVER supported THX!!! EVER!"

thats kinda sad if you get fired over that. Especially because when producing a product some manager should be overlooking the finished product the entire time. Theirs more than what meets the eye here.

Also ever should be never, "ever" in that quote does not make any sense. Unless it was something like "has not ever". Even then why not use never?
lol

its said correctly "no product has ever done this" means the same as "its never been done by any product"..

Yeah but come on! THX has absolutely NOTHING to do with graphics. I assume the stupid employee must have had at least SOME kind of basic GPU knowledge to develop the packaging, otherwise why the hell did they hire him in the first place?!? I say good riddance...you can't have ignorant fools ruining the company.

For those criticising the quote, I agree it does not make sense. But I left it as it is because if I changed it it wouldn't be a quote anymore

well, if the person that posted the quote is not a native speaker of english, I'd expect to see a quote phrased in such a fassion.

C'mon, how many owners manuals, product packages, company websites, etc involved in the tech industry are 100% grammatically english correct? Very few, TBH.

Although, if the 3850 with HDMI have their audio capabilities, I can see how someone might have somewhere figured that maybe, possibly, a THX logo should end up on the box.
