Crosshair II
I'm looking forward to that more than anything. Wonder how Phenom 9x50 processors would run on that. |

But the RV670 / 680 do not have independent clock generators for the shaders. It's more of a hardware thing than something to do with a custom BIOS.
The Crosshair II Formula...implies there could be a 'Extreme' in the pipeline. ![]() ![]() Quote:

Holy G70! Is it going to be a bigger, badder C90? Is there a picture somewhere!?
Edit: Aw it's one of the ugliest notebook computers I've ever seen. http://gizmodo.com/341346/asus-g70-g...ets-nvidia-sli Last edited by jbizzler; Mar 4, 2008 at 12:10 PM. |

You have to be subjective in this... the 775Mhz ati shaders outperform 2 to 1 the Geforce's 1.2 - 1.5 Ghz shaders. ATI's R670 has 320 superscaler 5x1 shader units. In all, 64 shader units to G80-90's 128. at 775 Mhz these 64 Shader units stay competitive with 128 1.5 Ghz shaders. lol. Superior technology, for a lower price, we all win. Nvidia has always had to cram more shaders in their gpus because they know, shader to shader, ATI will win, and has won since the R300 (Radeon 9000 series) |

And ATI's "more efficient" shaders don't mean squat. They're a more complex shader, therefore game makers don't want to code for them. The architecture differences don't mean a thing, only the end results matter. That means NV is ahead this round.
