3DMark Vantage Launch Date Changed to April 29, 2008

*whistles* Look at those requirements. I'm beginning to question how my system is going to hold up to this new found form of abuse :P

I take it it works under Server 2008 as well. I'll give it a try when it's out.

I just hope there is a free version even if they remove some features to do so such as the PhysX test. If they use a one, two or maybe three time use only tactic (then you have to buy) then I wont even bother downloading it.

Yay! Let's play this game...oh wait. I don't get what people see in this stupid benchmark. To me, it's nothing more than a "my e-penis is bigger than yours" contest. Boohoo. So you scored 100 points more than everyone else. Congrats. What did you win? Absolutely nothing at all (except making yourself look like an idiot online).

Give me real games I can play. Call of Duty 4, Unreal Tournament 3, Far Cry 2 etc. That's where GPU's ought to perform at their best instead of in a scripted app.

The idea behind these benchmarks is to test your computer against what computer games may be in the next couple years as they're released. It also makes an excellent stability testing tool while in a loop.

Exactly. It took 3 years for us to get forest like in Nature test of 3dMark03 and that was Oblivion. While looking for 3DMark03 release date found this on another forum, nothing has changed

Who cares about 3dmark and scores big deal. Buy your favorite game or games Set the game how you like it if the frames drop and gameplay lags upgrade if not then who gives a crap about score. I wonder how many 16000 scores actually play any amount of gaming. You dont need a utility unless you build systems or review, just play the damn game

I think tweaking my system to achieve a max benchable overclock is more fun than most games.

I agree, some friends of mine spent one whole LAN party doing nothing but running 3dmark 06 to see how fast we can get our systems. One of the best LAN's i've been to.

Download. All you do is pay for it, and they email you your key. If you already installed the demo, you enter your key and it unlocks the full program. No need to download anything else.
