I am running this in my current system. It's the biggest and flashiest heatsink/fan I've seen and it works quite nicely(hope you have a case over 8" wide)

NO Get the regular edition. Black absorbs the most heat so therefore no good. If you get a TRUE with a combination of a 220 CFM delta fan you will "maybe" outperform Watercooling.

its so minimal of a difference its hardly there... the black nickel cover on the extreme actually can dissipate much more heat than cooper can.

Get a cooler like the one on the rig that has tri-fire (erocker's).
I can't believe the temperature diference, and it looks very well on my case. ![]() SEE IT: http://www.xigmatek.com/product/air-...rpions1283.php One of the best and good looking coolers i've ever seen.

If you go with a Xigmatek HDT-S1283, there was a review of the Red Scorpion recently that found it to perform slightly worse then the normal one because of it being nickel plated, it gave up a few degrees. Of course this is just one review, so it doesn't mean it is completely true, but something to think about.

I don't think it's really true, plus it creates a better seal for the copper tubes. If anything the fan runs a little slow, but it looks darn nice!

Ah, well then, I just remembered seeing that and thought I'd share. I'm still waiting out the arrival of the Achilles S1284.
