Has anyone tried replacing the fan of the stock cooler with another?

I mean, taking off the fan of a C2D stock cooler and attaching another one?

Any benefits? Not worth trying?

Running your processor at those speeds in your specs I would recommend just getting an AC Freezer pro.

Is your computer in a freezer?

Yeah, freezer 7, or 120mm Xigmatek would be insanely better.

I order from my regular supplier a NH-U9B cooler (bigger ones won't fit in my case). Problem is there's no such cooler available in Portugal for sale

http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=58290

Judging from those reviews, this cooler outperforms some of the big coolers and since i can't get a big cooler, i want the next best thing.

It comes with an ice scraper. It doesn't defrost itself. Yes, destroy your computer.

The same type of freezer sells for $80 at your local Walmart and it auto-defrosts.

I find this utterly stupid: really!

This NH-U9B cooler is a product from an Austrian company and isn't available here in Portugal but it's available in Singapore and has been for around 1.5 months. Isn't Singapore a LOT further away then Portugal?

Come on

yeah, not worried about the defrost thing, Im only putting radiators in it. Highly doubt with warm water running that they will freeze. HIGHLY doubt that. infact I would like that.

I figure its cheaper than getting a water chiller.

Oh and Walmart only carries fridges, you think I havent already checked this!!

The only one I could find was to small for my radz, I need between 1.5 & 2 cubic feet and it has to be a upright.

Won't fit: unless it's a small (in height) heatsink, it won't fit my case!

Thank you for offering, though!

EDIT

This is my case:

Yeah I was in the market for one to use as a beerigerator but the minifreezers and minifriges are only 1.6cu.ft. so that might be a tight squeeze.

Try 1.5 months. I order it on 16-03-2008 and i have yet to know when it will be available.

I even went to Noctua's site and checked out every single store they say sell Noctua's products in Portugal but all i could find were older, less efficient, versions of this cooler

EDIT

But, back on topic: has anyone tried replacing the fan of the stock cooler for another fan?
