My problem with you is the same and 90 percent of the people on this forum have with you, you escalate eveything and makes every minor thing into something giant. You are insulting just as you are in this post, which I intend to bring to wizzards attention. Every thing you touch turns into arguement. Don't send me harassing and insulting messages it is against forum rules since you are a mod please try to follow them. I deleted my orginal post trying to avoid this since this stuff falls on deaf ears. Thisall started because I called some of the forum format changes retarded(mainly kidding around) and this was what it turned into. I couldn't use the smiles to make it clearer I was kidding ,on my computer they don't work right now . I'm not kidding about this post ,however, this kind of behavior is out of control.

Dan told you to PM him or see a Supermod, but instead you're making it public. No wonder he's got a gripe with you.

Making your case against a mod still doesn't warrant publicizing communication between you and that mod.

Don't expect Dan to sugarcoat things for you, it isn't his personality type. He may not have the most soft and sweet demeanor; nor words that leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside, but what he said in that message is completely reasonable and 100% true. Especially the portion about PMs and contacting other senior moderators.

Thats what this section of the forum is for neptune. This has been debated before and several complaints on Dan are posted here. Dan doesn't believe these post belong here either ,however several other people do Mods included if you cannot take the public heat than try not to insult every person you correct. Why hide a problem address it openly. In my opinion this is the problem with this forum and i'm posting an example. I deleted one post and he called me on it so here it. You shouldn't tell me to stop deleting posts but criticise me when I do post one. I deleted the first one but as you can see he challenged me about so here it is.

Then here's my take on this thread. It's open to all members, so it's public. Members can come here and point out something that's wrong so other members discuss it. Criticizing a moderator or another member in public creates a storm of personal attacks. Members can only attack or defend. Would the goal be for W1zzard to tally how many like Dan and how many have a problem? The evidence should be reviewed privately with the defendant or a mod higher up. Someone who can do something about it.

We put up with more than our fair share of bashing in this thread, other threads, and in private. We're just generally mature enough not to go publishing, and making a scene out of it, to everyone on the forum. If I saved my PMs I would have some messages from users that would make most of your skins crawl and paint peel off the wall. If you guys could see some of the PMs I've gotten from some of the most "popular" people on this forum, I guarantee they wouldn't be so well liked.

We don't always want to tolerate the abuse we receive. Just remember, there is always two sides to any single story, we just rarely share ours. Not everyone on this forum is a good person, some of them are chronic liars and deceivers. Often times these are the people who cause problems and share their story of oppression; they sometimes exaggerate and manufacture injustice for the sole purpose of strengthening their case and drawing attention to themselves. They rarely tell the complete story, leaving out the misbehavior and negative actions which reflect poorly on themselves.

All I ask is that members try to keep an open mind when hearing stories and realize that sometimes you are hearing half truths and incomplete events.

Could you translate that to English for me? I have no idea what you said in either of those two pseudo-sentences.

He says Dan has a big head, and insults accompanied by positive emoticons aren't punishable or offensive. He's also giving all the mods the middle finger.

He suggested that you can say anything when you put a smiley behind it. Then again I'm guessing he doesn't understand the irony in what I said. Which isn't all that relevant either.

On the other hand, you can joke about many things, given the right context. Mods aren't that easily offended here. In fact, compared to many other large forums we let a lot go. Some people seem to miss that.

However, if you read through this thread most people are actually quite happy with the way this place is being run. It's always less than a hand full of people that start huge drama and claim everyone is behind them. Basically the same as in the real world.

I think it's age. I'm 24, and I thought my generation was bad, but the next generation of youth is arrogant and self-centered. Especially on the Internet, everyone wants all the attention and popularity. Everything has to have social relevance and importance. I don't know any exact numbers, but I'm under the impression that a large chunk of TPU's regulars are young teenagers.

I honestly believe avatars and huge sigs are detrimental to the forum.

Frankly, I'm a bit scared. Kids have begun writing school papers using TXT lingo. In fact, there are companies out there transcribing Shakespeare into TXT format for cell phones.

Oh . In that case , Allen you should go back to school . Your English is horrible and bordering on unintelligible, . I know our education system is failing , but it hasn't gotten that bad yet . Your poor grammar doesn't make you look cute or clever , but rather makes you seem like an a simple fool with little or no education or credibility .

Is that enough smilies to hide my demeaning behavior? I sure hope so , because the smilies were meant to show that I'm only joking . The smilies are the real content of my statement not the words I used in between.

In other words, this is my real message to you.

you know i love this place including the mods....and after my dream im so scared of dan id give him a hug just to make sure he didnt hurt me....but after reading a couple opf the last posts iv come to the conclusion that the reason this forum is so funny amazing and intelligent is because the moderators are inharently crazy.....it puts a nice spin on the forums...you never know when thermo or dan will be playfull or go into a crazy hallucinogenic rage and start banning people at the drop of a hate dramatic? no but it keeps on our toes.

Sounds like we're celebrating Festivus this year, specially the Airing of Grievances. I guess some people really need it on occasion.

And that's not completely a joke.

It's all good. I've taken the liberty of creating a new thread in GN to hopefully free this one up for it's original purpose.

You have seen a lot in the three days you registered. You must have been a lurker for quite a while.
Not to go to any conclusions or attack you in any way but just some things I noticed: You post from proxies, you also posted from the same IP as a certain member who got banned right before you registered. This certain member was known to be another previous banned member. (and actually some others) All have the same horrible spelling/grammar and similar opinions. This person also runs his own site.

Just a simple question, I could be totally off. But is this all a coincidence?

Funny thing about that individual Dan, despite his hatred for the oppressive ogre staff here and owning his own site that is supposedly a haven for the oppressed, abused and battered from TPU he always takes the time to come back; posting here more than on his own site.

personally i think dan is one of the best mods here - i love his sarcastic and in your face humour.

No i am NOT brown nosing here, i honestly think this. When i first came here i was "who's this twat", but now i quiet like him and i find his humour and way of doing things very refreshing
